It's a Plaentary Scan mission.I assumed it was like similar mission typws where I would fly to the system, locate the planet(esmal/moon) then locate the Search Zone Building on the surface and land nearby, deploy SRV to approach, interact with DataPoint, scan it and acquire the data.Unfortunately, in this case, the mission has not updated - I honestlyu have no idea what else is required. What else must one do in these missions???
You have it absolutely correct, so you need to determine why the mission has not updated. These missions are typically very reliable...
Are you in the correct system? Have you perhaps flown through the system previously doing something else and had the update then? Check the mission details in the transactions tab in your HUD and see whether it lists the planet you need to go to.
Yes, I went to the correct system (this is actually all I have done this morning) and received an update informing me of the actual moon - this was reflected in the mission desription and updated correctly.I flew to this moon and identified the SEARCH ZONE: BUILDING target.I visually ID'd this target and landed nearby.I sent the SRV up to the data point and scanned itI received a "DATA" inventory message.The mission itself is still incomplete.
Hmmm.. Ok, that is strange. These missions are usually pretty reliable.
When you scan the data point, you get a / some notifications regarding the data that you have scanned, plus at that point there should also be a notification from the faction saying congratulations or something. Then, when you return to your ship, generally just before you board you get a final notification to return to whatever station to receive your reward.
Once you get back, you should be able to claim the reward. I don't believe with these there is a "mission completed" notification in the HUD as there is with say assassination or salvage missions.
I'm not expecting a "mission completed notification.What I meant is that the ascannning of the data point, although I retrieved the usual scan data (as with any POI data point) what SHOULD NORMALLYT happen is the mission then update to say something along the lines ofr "well done, the data is transferred to yopur ship, head to xxx for your reward" - THIS is what is not occurring.Since I first posted, I tried saving & exiting then re-entering the game. NOw the entire site has disappeared entirely and my SRV is trapped "underground".
Ouch... Sounds like you've done these before from what you are writing, so I can only assume that something has bugged out. I'm presuming that you have scanned the correct data point by following the search zone POI from SC, again, sounds like you have done these missions before from what you are saying.
Planetary POI's do disappear if you log out and then log back in, although obviously your SRV should not be underground. You might be able to retrieve that situation by starting up from ED without Horizons.
Just wanted to update to say I had the same issue with a wartime planetary scan mission, so it seems a new bug has been inserted.
Completed the mission, but no mission update. Well, I had a few others to do, so went on to the next one, completed it and the first one completed too. Shrug.
I'll bug report it. Suggest you do too...
