The Witcher 3 completionists ?

So I'm basically obsessed by my games. Really... it's almost sad.
I can't play a game without having finished the last one. You might say that's a good thing, saving money, being smart... but no, I keep buying stuff x'(

I'm currently playing the witcher 3, great game, love it, but how long is it if you're looking for that sweet 100% ? I'm too afraid to start skyrim

Luckily, this obsession is only for 1player games, story driven and such. ED is my remedy, can't finnish it !

EDIT : Achievements included... told you, it's sad.

I'm exactly the opposite...way too easily distracted by DLC...hence I left some question marks all over Velen to jump onto Blood and wine or Hearts of Stone. I'll probably get around to going back and checking them out at some point.

Those question marks ... How can you ?!
It's so tempting !

Ah yes, all those question marks - true completionists nightmare :D It took me about 80-100 hours to clear all the side quest and finish the main story. Now I`m about 30h in to the DLC and its no where near to finish!
This game is massive but it was worth playing all the content. Take your time and enjoy.

Easily 100 hours probably closer to 130 to play out and complete everything I could find in the main game. And even then I've seen videos of stuff I hadn't found haha. The 2 DLC were a good 50 hours each or more. GoG says I've played 340 hours some of that won't be playing but you get the idea.

Best game I've ever played. It's ruined gaming for me though as everything I play is now subconsciously judged by witcher series ridiculous high bar.

Even though I consider Witcher 3 the greatest RPG of all time, I must admit that I left many of those "treasure markers" abandoned in the seas of Skellige.

Did all the non-pick-stuff quests though, the writing is absolutely top-notch. This game has probably ruined the genre for me, nearly all the other games seem so poor in comparison...

As for Skyrim, I love it nearly as much as W3. They're my 2 all time favorite games, although for completely different reasons. Skyrim is probably the game I played for the most time ever, I have thousands of hours in it.

I played Witcher 3 and Skyrim on both the Xbox and PC...not many games apart from E-D I'll purchase twice since I played that on both platforms too. The Witcher 3 was an immediate purchase, as was E-D. From the Witcher 2, when it first appeared on the Xbox, I must have spent more time in that game world between W2 and W3 than I did on Skyrim...although I've not really gotten into Skyrim on PC as much as I thought I would.

I'm now on my third playthrough of Witcher 3 with all the DLC, I felt a new character playing from the beginning would be better suited to contuing one that had finished the main game. At the moment, I've completed the main storyline and onto Hearts of Stone...Blood and wine to follow then back to clearing up those damned question marks again...

I have been completely unable to get into Witcher 3, despite repeated attempts and the fact I love the books.

68h in, havent even been to skellige. And remember there are branches you cant do both in one playthrough. :p

Oh my...

Indeed, CDPR knows how to make games ! As of Skyrim... let's say that until I finnish TW3 I'll be 90 :p

You're... how do you even... How many hours ?

I guess you can't please everybody :)

Oh my...

You're... how do you even... How many hours ?

I have 4000 odd hours logged on E-D alone on Xbox and PC...heaven knows how many on Witcher, Skyrim and the others in total [where is it]

I'm a broken ex soldier, lots of free time and home baking to spend my time on :)

I'm 66 hours in, currently doing Skellige. I've done every side quest and ? location on the main map and am currently chewing through Skellige. However, I've not progressed the main story super much, so maybe there's a load more to do on Velen and the mainland. I've also recently (Steam summer sale) bought all the DLC, which I've not even looked at.

Then again, I've not played Witcher 3 much lately. I think it needs a few marathon sessions to try to progress.

Oh and Skyrim, please do! :) 208 hours (man, I'm sure I did more there) and 102 hours on Special Editon. Only got like 50% achievements :p There's so much to do, especially with mods. It does look a little dated, but still super fun!

Found this myself. Following an excellently risque opening scene, I proceeded to spend two hours of my life with what I shall refer to here as Mandingo Syndrome - trying to squash myself into something I think I know from the start I just won't get into.

I'm sure it has a lot going for it for some...I personally found what storyline I encountered cliche enough to remove any sense of drama, and any gameplay I encountered to be as unengaging as staring at fruit.

Ah I see, well I'd say you deserve your free time then :p
ED doesn't count, time is relative in this game more than anywhere else.

Skyrim I really want to get into, but everytime I try I end up modding it for a week and forget to actually play it :S

Skyrim for me is a different story than Witcher, I`m like 300h in and I did not do anything really - all playing with different mods and trying out myself in creation kit!

Yeah, to me Skyrim is more of a 'real' roleplaying game, where you can create a huge variety of roles in a cool world. The Witcher is more an open-world action adventure with skill points.

I fully understand that, every time I decide to start a new Skyrim playthrough, the first day is just for modding :D

Agreed. Skyrim let's you play the role you want to play. In The Witcher 3, you're Geralt and no one else. You can be a good Geralt, or a bad Geralt. But you will always be Geralt.
However, what The Witcher 3 does is so much better than Skyrim on multiple levels.
