Bounties & Clemency

So, I'm allied with the system I'm in because I spend a lot of time there. System authorities are green on my scopes.
Every once in a while I'll get an annoying bounty while in the thick of battle, usually because using my fighter's guns is a bit less precise and I'm not as good at it yet.

Anyway, it seems silly that my allies would be willing to kill me over a 500cr fine for a bad shot.

So what I'm proposing is that I have an option by selecting the bounty on my info panel in order to exchange STATUS WITH THE FACTION to reduce a bounty to a fine. 1% status per 1000cr of bounty. This would ONLY work if you were friendly or allied with the faction and would essentially prevent these kind of nonsensical fraggings between allies.
 
Extrapolate. If someone wanted to get away with murder, all they have to do is a few missions, kill someone, pay status, repeat.

If they limit it per system, they just jump systems more.

I'm asking for the sake of discussion: when you say murder to do you mean murdering NPCs, like piracy? Or murdering PCs?
 
I think the police responce for a couple of shots across the bows is a little extreme they should at least try to scan you before shooting unless you do murder them then yes the current police responce is prob what I would expect
Shooting and not killing should be more of a fine and move on
Murder should be reacting as they react now obviously once your fine rises a little you can have the odd bounty hunter pulling you in for a bit of a fight too
