New PS4 player here and just finished my first engineering upgrades.

1. Any CMDR that can advise on my stats + empty slots + weapons for Combat purposes?
2. Also would appreciate some advice on what to engineer / upgrade next: Shields? Power Plant? Power Distributor? Weapons?

Appreciated! At least this gives me some comparison and indication.
Been trying to figure out the engineering mechanism which I believe I finally understand.

Still pondering my weapon load-out, currently turrets to learn how to do combat with her so only firing the trigger and focusing on positioning, FA on/off and stuff.
Once under control I intend to play around with different weapon combo's.

Hence I am also still unsure on wether or not to engineer weapons first or power plant or distributor or other stuff
 
- get thermal resist bi-weaves and resistant augmented boosters.

- i fly my combat python with two large ammo increased frags, with a large efficient beam gimbal, and a medium gimbal emissive focussed pulse and a medium gimbal corrosive MC - imho the fastest way to pop stuff, when you get used to how to use frags.

- another typical outfit would be 2 medium efficient beams and 3 large overcharged multi cannons - more than 1 medium beam turret isn't necessary on a python.

I second the bi-weaves and resistances.

While it sounds like it would make sense to first use turrets, then move down to gimballed, or fixed, it's more likely to just reinforce bad habits.

Start off with a mix off all three, IMO. Put some C3 gimballed lasers or multicannons on top, as your primary weapons. Slap in some C2 turrets for backup (or just use more gimbals). And use the bottom C3 hardpoint for a single hard-hitting fixed as a weapon of opportunity.
 
Will look/read-up on those bi-weaves and resistance boosters and will look to drop the turrets as the point about reinforcing bad habits makes perfect sense.
