Rift shipping tardiness

Still no update to my order from the Oculus store on the 18th July!
They offered me the option of cancelling, and ordering from a retail partner instead - and I do see it back in stock at Amazon.
Should I do that?
Is there any benefit to ordering directly from the Oculus store? Or should I cancel, then order from Amazon and get it within the week?
What do you reckon?

stores in the uk seem to be expecting stock of the new SKU over the next few days, hopefully this is a good sign that you guys will start to get your orders shipped out.

its frustrating but oculus seemingly cant make them fast enough in this sale, and they have far exceeded expected sales figures. an initial PITA but good news for VR as a whole imo.

honestly... if it were me i think i would rather have my rift from amazon than oculus. i know how amazon are for warranty purposes. am not sure sure about oculus (which does not mean they are bad, just better the devil i know!)

I bought mine from Best Buy. They were offering free 2 day shipping. I was worried when they didn't ship until a day before the expected delivery date. But it turned out they knew they were shipping late and upgraded me to next-day air. I was in VR all last weekend thanks to them!

Put my order in on Friday the 21st of July late in the afternoon and it's scheduled to be delivered to the house tomorrow (12 days)...(USA) may have to call in the rest of the week - COUGH! COUGH***

Well today I cancelled my order with Oculus and ordered from Amazon.co.uk. It should be arriving on Friday! :)
The only way to cancel with Oculus is, oddly, to send a support ticket. So that's been sent, notifying them of the cancellation, but I haven't had a response from them yet, and my order details remain unchanged. Felt slightly foolhardy reordering elsewhere when the cancellation of my initial order has not yet been acknowledged! But I'm sure it'll be fine!

This is exactly what I ended up doing. Mine arrived from Amazon the next day! Very pleased to be back in the black after a very long break (just not the same on a monitor)

Just a quick update.
Ordered 14th July, finally got a confirmation of order and the money taken from my account on 05th August by Oculus.

Still no shipping date, although they have said it will be with me shortly.. Hopefully dispatched this week with any luck.

I still haven't got round to upgrading my graphics card yet but I have ordered some prescription lenses which fit inside the oculus as my eyes are terrible and wearing glasses with my DK2 was a bit awkward if playing for more than an hour.

I place my order with Oculus on July 28, receive an email on Aug 4 that my order is ready for UPS to pick up, along with a tracking number.
Guess I got lucky or they are catching up with the orders they got.

Oculus bundle finally arrived yesterday so had a play around with it last night to get set up.
So from 14th July to 09th August for my delivery. I guess I just caught it when stocks were out, oh well.
Havent had chance to try Elite yet but as soon as the kids are in bed tonight I will get-a-playin :)

I suspect they have been clearing out their stock of old rifts with xbx controllers and seperate touch units.
And that some areas warehouses sold out on the old units before receiving stocks on the new packaging.

And that is now starting to come together.
