XR Rebirth VR in Oculus Store

I noticed this little space game got an Oculus Touch VR update. Did anyone play XR? It's a little steep for early access, but seems like some good space VR.
Both the Vive and the Touch controllers are seen in the clip, so it looks like multi-platform. Always good to see.

the X-series has been going for 10+ Years, excellent games.. Then they released X-Rebirth, shockingly bad. I'll wait for reviews before purchasing the VR version. I am a huge fan of Egosoft, however they are known for releasing extremely buggy games, even the mighty X3 Terran conflict was a buggy mess for quite a while.

Ah good to know. I missed this whole series, but had head about them. Early access always makes me shy away. Good idea to wait for reviews.

I could never get along with the x games.
Flight mechanic and world design just rubber me the wrong way.

Worst was the 'system' design.
It didn't feel like space at all but a really wierd fps mechanic for playing zork.
Since all systems had a North, South, West, and East gate (it's dark and you are about to be eaten by a grue)
It just felt square, forced and unnatural.
And from that point there was no saving it for me.

Now add on the absolutely game breaking bugs that was ocassionaly fixed in a patch that more than not brought more game breaking bugs than they fixed.
Eventually egosoft usually just stopped supporting the game completely in a fairly unplayable state until the community itself managed get a patch out that fixed most of them.

Yeah the flight model is pretty much non existent, combat is rubbish, the gated boxed systems is also a let down. Somehow it kept me addicted for almost a decade, it is more about fleet and empire management. FD could learn a great deal from Egosoft when it comes to building a believable economy, funny thing is egosoft have never hid the fact that their inspiration is from the original Elite.

The community is what makes the X-series shine, the mod community has transformed X3TC.
