OK, Frontier, You Win.

The press (J) is killing the game FOR ME!

Pressing a button kills your game?
Am I missing something..
Are we talking about pressing a button to engage your FSD?

I'm just gonna back away now
Just backing away....

The press (J) is killing the game FOR ME! I hate it like hot beer, or cold showers! It would be so simple to add a function like the DC or and AP or a NPC helmsman. There was already a guy who made an app where you could plot in a course and it took you to your destination.

However for some odd reason FDEV ask the guy to pull it as they wanted people to grind to get around in the galaxy.

However trade applications, and other applications is not "hacking"

FDEV please for clarity explaining what you consider hacking or cheating, because the guidelines are not that clear to me. I can list many addons who you could place in the cheating area.

This doesnt surprise me. Its from the same dev who thinks that taking your eyes off of flying and having to navigate multiple sub menus EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO DOCK is "meaningful game play interaction." Yes, they really ARE that tone deaf and out of touch. Can you imagine a flight sim where you HAD to take your eyes OFF OF Flying to request permission to land? The only thing WORSE than actually designing it this way, is LEAVING it this way and claiming its a positive.

But hey, what do I know? Perhaps some people like the fact that what was supposed to be a game about FLYING a spaceship, NOT watching one, has gone the opposite direction and turned into Netflix-with-HOTAS. But if this was supposed to be a space FLIGHT simulator, explain to me why the buttons I use to STEER my ship while FLYING it, will by YEARS outlast the ones used to TRIGGER A LOADING SCREEN.

It takes me less than one second to navigate to the menu to request docking and exit the screen. Do people really have trouble with this?

Tied to various macro's for me. The argument remains valid nonetheless though.

I'd like the API to tell me which TABS my panels are configured to so that my voice-attack profile DOESN'T have to constantly be reset.

I'd like to assign a hotkey to a fire-group because low intellect has decided it is unfair to have more than two fire buttons.
There are various sticks and controllers available for every platform.
I have yet to find a game, for which you can buy and make a controller functional, that handicaps you based on the premise that other platforms are less populated with said controllers.

0 faith in FD left for me.

No. No trouble at all.

Because I mapped it Voice Attack, so I can request docking in a semi realistic manner. Forcing my view to the menu is beyond tedious and annoying, however.

Same here. I just dont think they know how to make an interesting, compelling, FUN game. I think time sink game design has become an institutional norm for them, and barring a major internal change, they simply will be unable to make anything compelling and enjoyable.

Not because they are technically inept or stupid. They most certainly are not. But because fun and engaging is so far removed from their design philosophy that they simply do not have the tools or knowledge to make it happen.

If thats what you think why do you play ?, I drop games like they've been dipped in something unpleasant if they fail the fun test.

Someone made that program....Where the hack could i get it. I am in Colonia now and would use it to get back to the core. Last option for me buy sidewinder and free trip back.

Dont get me wrong. I havent played Elite in months. Or even felt the urge to do so, really.

Its just, every now and then, I check back to see if they've actually found a way to make a FUN space game yet. Turns out, they havent.

They made him so dependent on Engineering nubbies that he can't enjoy the game without the tricked out rides anymore even with an entirely separate game account. The nerve of them to do that!

I think i just passed my 25,000th hyperjump this week. Plz leave my engineered FSD's out of this.

People routinely automate their tasks in Elite, using Voice Attack scripting. Is this an exploit?

Please try to square this with the requirements for a Docking Module.

Mods, can you help us find an official response as to what constitutes a navigation exploit? Thank you.

Why do you guys fly out to these extreme distances if you don't like the idea of manually piloting your ship's? Same question applies to "why bother playing this game at all?"

For me, the reason I avoid flying long distances nowadays is because I've learned the hard way that there is literally nothing to do out there that can't be seen or experienced in a three jump radius inside the bubble. Automation isn't going to help that.

Sorry about that, Smeg. It's not pressing buttons that is killing my game. It is the ever increasing spiral of requirements, to have a viable ship.

I hope that clarifies things.

Just checking in to see if the money they've invested actually amounts to anything.

Kick-starter started in 2012. We're 2017. So far I can't name one update that hasn't been heavily outweighed by lacking core mechanics or some very hard to reason limitations.

3 years since release in 2014 and look where we're at. Debating the same DDF features that are lacking since day 1.

Need I mention how terribly uncomfortable I feel with the idea that DaveB also mentioned that the "next logical step" was anything but reviewing these core mechanics?

"invested" always makes me laugh.

Like I said many times, I think the reason is that they don't spend any significant time in their own game, or eating their own dog food... So, they just don't get how tedious some operations are.

Obviously, they didn't think it would be such a long trip. I was smart enough to try a trip only 5k from the bubble and that convinced me I was not ready to take on a trip to go to Colonia...

I fly 12+ hours in FSX most of it are with full auto pilot, just like you would do it in real life, just saying.

I got to Colonia. I wanted to see what Colonia was like that is all. It nice but the star density bugs my eyes out. Bought sidewinder for the ticket home and now back to my Corvette. At least i know my Anaconda is nice and safe in Colonia. Thargoids win the war in the bubble i will just leave back to Colonia in it. I do agree with you now that i think about it. You should fly manually. End of the wall of txt. ;)
