Massacre missions (lack thereof) Bug? Or...

I don't want cash, I want ranks! To this day, I don't understand why fighting for a fed faction in, you know, a war, doesn't gain any rank with the Federal or Imperial superpowers. You're going to war for them, for heavens sake!

So true. Take your own ship, which you paid for with credits earned from hard graft, into a war zone on behalf of the Federation or Empire, risk your investment and your life to defend their principles, even pay for your own damn ammo and what do you get? Nothing.

When the war is over, fly eight tons of plastic dog turds to a system 8LY away for the same faction and get a ++rep increase.

It makes no sense.

Agree so hard. Must be the only military powers in the history of everything that provide 0 recognition for combat service. Maybe we've got it wrong, the Feds are a future evolution of Green Peace, the Empire is the Merchant Marines, and the Alliance is Doctors Without Borders. You wanna build up 3rd worlds, move commodities, or haul meds?

+1 to the confusion surrounding combat in service of an empire not increasing rank with an empire.

Yet being the equivalent of really slow email makes you admiral/king worthy.

Makes the sparse availability of massacres that much worse.

Actually, now that I look deeper into it, it's the lack of any war-time missions at all. No ground attack, no recon - they are usually obvious, as they have "war-time" in their title.
