Elite Dangerous, why you no short route? :S
Because it's all about giving you reasons to fly your spaceship. What's the point in shortcutting anything, when the game is about that?

Power Play is ruined by the selfish opportunists who join a power just to obtain the special weapon and screw everything else.
We deal with these idiots every single cycle. AD is especially prone to the "Idiot Invasion" due to the popularity of our shields. We do have a Slack Community in place to assist those who "truly" want to participate and help us with our goals. We do get a lot of new members on a regular basis, but a lot of our efforts are wasted trying to undo the damage caused by the Idiot Invasion.

Picking the closest and of course "easiest" system to haul their mats to regardless of the fact that this isn't what needs to be done, voting for expansion when consolidation is what needs to happen, and other crap like that.
Its a constant battle, and takes its toll on those who are trying to do something strategic with this feature. I really hope that FD removes the special weapons aspect from the feature so that we can finally say goodbye to all the clueless idiots who always defect the second they obtain the special weapon.
They are like a swarm of Locusts... On to the next power to begin their clueless idiocy all over again.
It's not idiocy that drives this. Nor is it cluelessness. PP has become a way to gain special weapons and shields. There's not a lot more than that for the vast majority of game players. It's not that we don't know. It's that we don't care.
We might see you in the same light as you see us. But we don't go around returning your insults. That would make us as classless as you.
I'm sorry, but I don't have infinite time to spend on Frontiers time sinks.Because it's all about giving you reasons to fly your spaceship. What's the point in shortcutting anything, when the game is about that?
I tried PP a year or more ago when it first came out. It didn't grab me. I do play the BGS a lot, and spend my time flipping systems but I don't see that connected at all to PP (or I'm just missing the connection). My two main fields of play for BGS have both (randomly) been on the border of PP space, so a mix of PP-controlled and uncontrolled systems. Other than bumping into PP aligned NPCs I've never noticed any difference.
So, does PP have any impact on flipping systems, or vice versa, does my flipping systems for BGS reasons have any impact on PP?

I like to fly ... efficiently!
You seem to have missed the point. You are flying your ship. Everything else is incidental to that.![]()

Good morning Commanders!
Although we as an individual Power have had no exciting opportunities last cycle, we have achieved an impressive amount of fortification, which is always pleasing.
We shall see if any interesting systems open up to us this week.
Start as usual, by fortifying and voting for Consolidation.
If you want to get an early start then as usual a few fortification targets are encouraged, for example Wulwula, Undines, Blod, Chankates, Rutujil or HIP 105391.
The finalised objectives will be posted on Reddit and copied here when ready once the numbers wizards have done their magic dance.
Never ever fortify: Tsanla, Chnumar, Daibo, Grebegus, HIP 10786, Kuki An, Kaukamal, Panganau. You will make baby Aisling cry.
To find out more about the primary Aisling Duval communication hub, our community Slack (including how to join), read the FAQ:

Also, to keep an eye on our dynamic objectives list, which changes as the cycle progresses, please visit the webpage at https://trello.com/b/HBY3rRZR/aisling-duval
Fly safe, commanders!
As always with these threads, the OP and everyone on it forgets that its a team effort, and its the organised groups that make it worth playing. For a single player its baffling and seems pointless, but with others its fantastic.
Instead of shouting at a wall, why did no-one look at the power threads and then go to the groups who run said powers? You would have found all the answers you need there. Powerplay has a minimal presence on these forums, but Reddit, Discord and Inara are much better.
No I'm not.
I'm too busy playing the menu.
So don't?! It takes less than a minute to completely stock up on media materials in my Cutter (that's over 700 tons). I agree that the UI could be improved (e.g. an option to continue buying until your hold is full, without having to do it yourself). However, it is hardly a huge issue with how it works now.
They aren't tightly controlled. I can totally blow off the Empire and keep the shields. I can kill both sides' Navies and still keep the rankings. It's laughable to think they are tightly controlled. The point I was making is that the game forces you to a point, but then pretends to offer "anything goes". Sure, anything goes, if you don't want to have anything but generic ships and modules.Conversely, why should everything be available on the Black Market? The Power Play goodies are tightly controlled. Because it takes four weeks to actually get access to them, when people do have access they want to keep things to themselves - so they aren't going to be selling their modules on any market.
Yea, I'm gonna need you to upload a video to prove that. No way you can do that in less than one minute, unless you're Leezar incognito. Is there some sort of glitch I don't know about? So don't?!
