Then learn to run faster. Flee the scene, don't be where the goids will be, but don't hate on a huge overarching story forcing you to truck in safe space when it is pretty much what the whole game is designed long term around.
I feel for you if you feel inconvenienced by the goids but that's the point in them. If you hide long enough they will probably go away and you can trade/haul poop/explore or whatever, wherever you want to your hearts content
Maybe roll some dirty drives or if you don't like engineers find a bit on the fringes of human space (or wherever they make a safe zone) and play there till it blows over? The game will change, maybe a little, maybe a lot, evolve or die![]()

How do I run whilst in a loading screen?
It was more general advice meant to be taken non-specifically, implying things like run away from the front line. Stay ahead of the wave, etc
The goids so far have been very location specific so far and the in lore snippets of stuff to come are also pretty location based. It is pretty reasonable to assume FD will follow that trend so you can run away to places you are not in so much danger in and happily haul all the commodities you want and just pretend the giant story is not happening
Otherwise next bit of advice is speed your ship up so you can run away post loading screen.
Evolve or die
Or just complain.

Not really, no. I'd prefer my Thargoid stories like I have: from afar, via YouTube videos, as background news that happens elsewhere.
Destroying systems in a way that it affects PowerPlay and BGS work that people invested a lot of time in, is something that FD would regret, I am sure, for something that is only going to be temporarily a real problem. Mess with stuff that people put years of effort to, and a bunch of the most hardcore-play-every-day CMDRs would leave the game, I am certain. They wouldn't be that suicidal.
And that's fine.
My fear is of RNG-death via hyper-diction.
That would be stupid, as no "evolve or die" efforts could counter that.![]()
I never said people have to travel thousands of light years to get Thargoid content. That's putting words in my mouth. I mean travel around the bubble.
You know, like we already do?
And yes, I'm absolutely against the notion of RNG-death in my trade-spec ship.
I've been part of a minor faction for years, I'd not mind it being crushed in the path of the Thargoids*. Surely that would give us an impetus to hit them back and retake that ground, and we could quickly establish elsewhere.
I daresay FDEV wouldn't struggle to find entire factions volunteering, the only hard part would be preventing spoilers.
I think there's plenty of bits of the bubble with no player factions anyway.

This thread is the greatest pile of "other people shouldn't be able to this and that" that I have seen in a long time in this forum.
Getting more popcorn... Keep going please.

Also mate, why should I be the one who has to take a long week doing nothing but loading screens just to get a game I enjoy?
Seriously, your selfishness is immense.
Thing is, I ain't even stamping my feet and insisting FDev give me what I want, I just made a post saying 'hey this is what I'd like' and promptky had to grab my tin hat. As with most things in the game they will either do what I want, or do what someone else wants, pretty sure the world will keep turning either way.
Granted some players, myself included, are probably going to be taking a steer from this on how 3.0 and beyond are likely to pan out in terms of the attitude towards new content from FDev is concerned and in turn whether we anticipate spending money on it, but that's no different from any other update and considering that there seems to be a significant amount of support for continuing the minimal/zero risk model that informs gameplay at the moment, I doubt that 2.4 will actually change anybody's mind one way or the other, if anything it will probably just confirm or harden whatever opinion the player already has.
During the course of this thread a thought did occur to me, FDev could put in Forward Deployment Bases where players could park their personal vessels, get in standardized military craft pre-fitted with anti-thargoid tech and deploy to thargoid combat zones without risk of rebuy or having to own multiple ships to participate.
It has nothing to do with the galactic vs localized/optional gameplay arguement, but it could make the content more able to be participated in by the space trucker/newbie audience since you wouldn't be required to do a lot of engineering and set up to get shootin.
Yeah I sort of feel like I've run out the normal reasons to grind (rank, creds, engineers) so if this content doesn't get more interactive and engaging I'm not gonna have anything to log in for. I'm not talking about level/power/advancement, I just mean more interaction, more reasons to actually fly my ship further than from SC drop to mailslot, rather than reasons to port hop.
