It occurs to me that CIG can save time and money on their Gamescom presentation this year by reusing the Citizencon 2016 presentation. After all, nothing has materially changed since then.

They can use their teams of programmers and artists to get the game ready instead.

Ironically, If they would have got that presentation as alpha 3.0 playable, they would most likely have done actual work on professions by now.

But yeah, CIG wouldn't dare to do that after so long time of nothing burger.

Hah, that made me chuckle. Imagine if they did that, it would be so funny.

From the monthly report...

Finally, the team worked on redesigning the new mobiGlas. While many games get away with obvious HUD projection or holographic displays, our mobiGlas has to come from a piece that’s physically placed on the character, which means it needs to be present on a naked wrist, a wrist with long sleeves, a wrist with a jacket, and also fit on undersuits and armor. They have taken a few passes on the new mobiGlas with these requirements in mind and are really excited by the prospects of this new piece.

What? Lose your fancy bootleg iWatch and lose your HUD? Is it just me that this sounds a bit.. silly?

EDIT: Here's the whole report is someone wants to read it. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/16043-Monthly-Studio-Report-July-2017

"We have hard times making mundane functionalities, so we'll make uselessly complicated ones no one made before (apart from Batman, Dead Space and other games), ones that are prone to help ourselves shooting several times in our already overcumbered feet"

Nevermind losing your starwatch, actually using these fidelitious stargadgets is actually a PITA since it prone to things like resolution scaling or the lack of it due to it using in game modelled projections

Still eagerly awaiting todays ATV and the vast amount of content their new format must contain.

And it's here!

The lulzbucket is already purring in delightful anticipation :D

These poor people have absolutely no idea about change management at all :(

And now they are trying to emulate sounds that appeared on TV's in the 90's after you took the RF shield off an Amiga 500 to fit a CPU socket IDE interface :D

After all that, we're no further on, there's nothing new or exciting, nothing much else to say really.

Look at those mobiglass UI, as I said in the above, using them is a PITA in itself with those resolution scaling issue and things like that 'misaligned' angle relative to you own view!

Some of us knew this would happen since that ironman movie UI designer jumped onboard all those years ago.

He left ages back, didn't he?

I can just imagine hordes of underpanted Commando's approaching Miles Eckhart, all shielding themselves from his glory with raised arms emitting a poor GLTron texture and audio from a formatting ST-506.

Oh dear. I just got around checking out that video with the ATV and the MobiGlas. I loved how the ragdoll fail video ran at a glorious 21 fps in a corridor :D

You know nothing about game development.

That is increasing progress towards fidelity. It's 87.5% to cinematic 24 FPS.
