why do we have internal lights with no way of turning them off?!

alright, its really starting to annoy the bajesus out of me, but having internal lights on a space ship that you cant turn off, is like driving in a car at night, with the inside lights on! the contrast makes it really hard to see things when your in a dark enviroment, which considering its space, is QUITE often. im not against the lights period, i just think we should be able to turn the internal lights on and off.
this would ESPECIALLY make navigating dark asteroid fields ALOT less annoying. it cant be THAT hard to do, considering they turn off when the systems fail/hyperdiction.

And have you noticed how many of them have the ridiculous "Lights" label, as if maybe we do not recognize light when we see it?
