Just curious about 'home' systems...

I think many of us have a system/specific station that we call home, a place we like to come back to most often, store ships etc. So I'm curious which systems or stations other people use as a home base. Also, maybe there's a reason for your chosen home. Maybe it's just me who does this lol.
For me personally home would be the Vaka system, Zenbei Orbital. I decided to stay there back in the early days because it made up part of my slave trading run, seemed to bump into a lot of friendly CMDR's there.

Deviation. Cos gardener is there and had almost all mods you need for a job combat shop.

For those who aren't fluent in SwiftKey autocorrect, that actually says :

Deciat. Because farseer is there and has (almost) all the mods you need for a non combat ship. Plus some very busy planets for prospecting.

But lately Sol, cos credits from passenger missions.

Cubeo; because the plastic princess was there, but that was a long time ago. Now I have about 10 ships there. It is a sort of central place; for anything I need or want to do.

That was hilarious to read - I had no idea what you were on about, but your tone read as being very sure of what you wrote!! Brilliant for a laugh!

"Home is where the navy sends you." In my case this means I'm based near where I work the bgs at that time.

But if I had to choose a long term home right now, it would be one of the important imperial worlds. Either Cubeo (Aisling's headquarters), Cemiess (Aisling's homeworld) or Achenar. Maybe also Kamadhenu, you know, for basking.

Jameson

When I played on Mac/PC, Shinrarta Dezra was my home, but now I'm a PS4 player, I'm still looking. At the moment, it seems to be wherever the CG is, but once I get to Elite in something, I'll probably move my fleet to Jameson Memorial.

I wander a lot but find I come back to okinura a lot. Mostly because of the tanker there giving materials I use and I've built up allied standing with most of minor factions so decent paying missions when I can be bothered. It's also fairly central to other things I like roundabout

Shinrarta Dezhra, Jameson memorial. Everything in the bubble is close and all ships/modules available and on sale for -10%. Also always a lot of people in open.

Me too, for much the same reasons, but I'm nearly always in Solo.

I have four currently. One in fed/alliance, Empire an indi., one out of the bubble. Each has a Python, asp a small fast ship and a big brute.

Alliance space is in the north above Sol.
The group I work for (AEDC) has extensive territory, so I relocate to the heart of whatever project has highest priority.
I spent six weeks out in the California Nebula mostly at a station called Darwin Research Laboratory. There's a lot of weird Alliance things happening out there. Made me rich too.

These days, 'though, I am working for Southern Command. We have staked territorial claims on some significant lore-rich systems. And of course we have more maintenance tasks, now that we have gone public about those claims.

So the core of my fleet is down south near the front lines, but I've got a combat ship and a multi role up north.

The claims:

And Sol. Our last expansion should have gone to Sol - but Sol is God locked.

Wangal as that is our Group HQ
I think Wangal was picked as it was off in the hinterland yet not complete out of the way

A home system is about your experience in the game, what you want to accomplish and becoming allied with many factions in the home and neighboring systems to accomplish your goals. Here is my checklist but it is all about how I play the game which may be totally different from your version. Still it may give you a few ideas.

Regards,

My checklist for a home system:

+ Conveniently located in a primary allegiance (Federation, Empire, Alliance) area.
+ 3000+ LS approach to the station so many won't bother flying in.
+ KGBFOAM type star for testing fuel scoops.
+ Sells a Hauler for relocating ships (cheaper than transporting).
+ High end modules. If the system doesn't have it then nearby systems do.
+ Multiple REZ and Combat Zones in nearby systems for advancing the combat rating
not affiliated with your home systems.
+ 4 plus factions all supporting one allegiance.

Options
+ Permit required so many won't bother obtaining it.
+ Reasonable distance to systems that discount ships and modules.
+ Reasonable distance to systems that have well paying BB missions.
+ System name easy to type into the Galactic Map.
+ Nearby Metal Rich systems for mining.
+ Nearby profitable trade routes.

But maybe you will be do trading and mining in one system, passenger missions in another and serious combat in a third. One can have many 'home' systems depending upon where you want to go in the game when you login. :)
