I do agree with you but if it matters that much the only way to be absolutely certain of not seeing a spoiler is to give the forum a miss for a while.
Also put [ Spoiler ] in the title for mobile viewers who always see what's inside a spoiler tag.
Just delete any thread that loads a quick glance spoiler in the title.
Can we not just get a "Storyline & Lore Spoilers" sub-forum where everything like that can be put away for those who want to see?
That would work without mods having to be active 24/7 constantly checking new threads and posts which is totally un-managable. Also it would simply rely on us reporting the spoiler threads rather than users self-spoilering their titles. Moving is easier than editing titles afaik.

There is usually a beta forum, though it's pretty leaky...
That's quite amusing because the only time I ever use spoiler tags is when posting pictures and was primarily as a courtesy for mobile users

You will probably have to end up looking up spoilers to find the alien stuff in the first place

That shouldn't be a problem. We'll have something for it to keep the general areas of the forum free of spoiler content.
