If there's enough time in 2.4

Please, please, please, FD! Give us the option to re-position the panels when playing in VR, or at least move them in a little closer so we don't have to turn our heads so much to see information that should be right in-front of us.

How difficult would it be to give us a switched option to move the panels inward a little bit in VR? Can it be done and tested during the beta? If there's time, that is.

lol - I was flying a DBS last night, and I had to practically pull an exorcist every time I wanted to request docking.

Agreed wholeheartedly! I have to turn my head 90 degrees to see clear text on the side panels.

I've taken to leaning forward in my chair and resetting my Rift so they're not so far back. Unfortunately, this has the side effect that leaves me sitting behind my torso, and my head is buried in the headrest.

Not ideal.

I think they are fine just where they are, so if they decide to do something I hope it is adjustable and not just move them so it affects everyone.

I don't really have a problem with it, but I know what you mean.

I'm still getting used to the scope of playing in VR. I'm actually a worse pilot in VR than on a monitor (for now at least).
I think it's because I've lost some situational awareness. I realize that sounds a little backwards when you can look everywhere, but that's part of the problem for me. With a monitor everything's right there in front of you, with minor eye movements to see different areas of the hud.
Now with all the gawking around, I find myself missing things, like the one target i've been engaged with in a CZ has turned into five. Yet I haven't noticed because I haven't seen the radar in the last 20 seconds.

But back to your request. More customization options are always better in my book. But I have a feeling we won't see something like this anytime soon.
If there's one request that would be at the top of my VR list, it would be an on-screen keyboard in the galmap. But i don't expect to see that either. :(

If you don't have it, you might want to look into voice attack. It is perfect for this type of stuff, I just say "request docking" and voice attack takes care of it for me.

Thanks. The more people talk about it, the more I think of useful commands that I could configure for it.

indeed, the sky is the limit and the rifts built in microphone works really well with voice attack. I actually just bough a voice pack so I didn't have to setup everything myself. Here is link that has a list of the commands to the voice pack I use. It will give you a pretty good idea of all the options that are possible with voice attack.
