If you think the bases are good in vr, just wait till you get hyperdicted.
Its epic.
With the Rift headphones, the sound of the Thargoid scanning you is insanely loud and my god, the light!
The immersions are going to give me a cardiac arrest.
I think he meant AFMU - Auto Field Maintenance Unit
I used this when I had to get 3 resins. There were only 2 in the ship and I didn't plan on trying to find another Thargoid site. By the time I reached Obsidian to sell the 2 I had, the cargo bay failed just as I made the last jump and lost everything.
Even though you have the AFMU, the ship is constantly "under attack" with failures. The AFMU will fix it but, it has to fail first. Your canopy will also fail but, the AFMU cannot fix canopies. I had three failures on the canopy, I figured a forth would be my undoing...
Looking forward to get hyperdicted myself... been in Beta for two days, but maybe i will give it a try and roam through the Pleiades for an hour or two in 2.3![]()

Sorry to proof you wrong, but the AFMU can actually repair the canopy. It couldn´t before 2.2, if i recall it right, but i can fix it, as long as it is in one piece. A blown out canopy though.... 7 minutes of oxygen remaining...
Umm, I'm afraid my A class AFMU didn't touch my canopy. It was "hit" 3 times and each time the cracks got worse and louder. I wish you could have proven me wrong. Fortunately, I lived to witness it not repairing the canopy. I suspect it's part of the hull even though it's a module. In 2.4, the new limpets would take care of that. We'll need more space in the ship for these sort of things.
I went out to one for the first time, yesterday. Flying over it, I thought "oh that's pretty cool".
Then when I landed and went around it in the SRV, it was like "wow, this thing is huge"...
Think I missed the memo on how to get into the central structure though.
Park outside of the structure and drive in. The scale is unbelievable and when you peer over an edge some are straight down your stomach goes through your chest. Awesome job on these sites.
AFAIK the module priority setting only affects what modules get deactivated first when there is not enough power. That has nothing to do with damage by corrosion. The cargo hatch will fail when it gets too much damage, regardless of priority.I tried it with 6 UA's. The biggest pain was when my cargo hatch failed as I jumped to Maia. All gone. [blah] I had it set to 3 in the modules. I think I'll set it to 1. Also, since my canopy wasn't getting fixed, I need to check the AFMU setting to see if that was also the case.
