Bounty Payouts versus Onscreen Awards Question?.

The last week or so I've noticed that I am sometimes only being paid out a fraction of what I was told onscreen after shooting down a bandit etc. Tonight in my Anaconda for example I was interdicted by another Anaconda rated deadly, I am rated expert, who had thermal weapons. I had lost the first ring of my shields before I got the fighter deployed and between the two of us we destroyed him in the end but not before I was down to the final ring and the fighter had to run. Up comes a 386kcr award for destroying the wanted criminal so and so, whoopee I think only for my elation to be shortlived when I get to the station and only get paid out 90k from the faction and 400cr from the Federation!!. I have had quite a few of these lately for various sums, so does anyone know if this is a bug or what. Not worth opening a ticket for it as it happens so often I wouldn't have time to play if I did. just wanted to know whether it is a known thing?.

Check the left-hand UI, second tab. It is likely that the remainder of the 386k is sat in there as other minor faction bounties, or as major bounties if you used a kws. Can't say for sure, but just an idea?

Do you have NPC crew taking a cut? If so, you should fire them ;)

This would be my guess.

Skilled NPCs take a fairly hefty cut of your profits so that might explain what's happening.
Also, the game has been known to mess things up so it looks like the NPCs are getting paid too much, or you're not getting paid enough.
If this seems to be happening, try logging out and back in again and it might fix it.

I've seen this several times when trading and being interdicted by NPC pirates, but it seems very random. In some cases the bounty simply vanished.

And this is not a NPC crew issue as their cut is determined when turning the bounties in. The issue here is that when you kill a ship your info panel shows the bounty value but when you check transaction panel the bounty is much lower or not there at all.

Yes, this is what is happening, nothing to do with my crewmember who I employed as a complete beginner (cannot remember the correct term at the moment) at 3% and is now an expert on 7%. it is just as you say vastly reduced or disappearing bounties.

Ah, right ho.

Are you sure they're disappearing and not just getting split between different factions?

I can't say I've ever noticed bounties reducing but they do, sometimes, get split.
I've been, say, interdicted, destroyed the bandit and got a message saying "250k bounty awarded" but then, when I look at the Transactions HUD, it might say I'm due a Cr150k payment from the current system faction and a Cr100k payment from the Federation.
If I'm in Imp' space when that happens, the local station will only be able to pay the Cr150k and I'll have to travel into Fed' space (or find a station with Interstellar Contacts) to claim the remainder.

Presumably, if that's the case, you'd notice the outstanding payments on your Transactions HUD though.

Also, on a related note, I sometimes get a bug where the Transactions tab displays things on top of each other so you can't see everything.
That's usually only a temporary thing though, so it's unlikely it'd permanently prevent me noticing an outstanding payment.
Are there any obvious "gaps" in the list on your Transactions HUD?

No they aren't being split up or mislaid in the transactions tab they are simply either not being paid or being vastly reduced. It doesn't happen all the time but recently it has happened often, at least 5 times the last week or so. I am in the process of ranking up to Rear Admiral in the Federation and maybe it has to do with that, if not it must be a bug, so if I find time I may post something in the bug forum here but it isn't really worth the time. I just wanted to know if it was a known happening or not and NecasekO seems to have had it happen to him as well.

This is definitely a bug, I even have it recorded on video - I destroy a ship, info panel shows 380 k bounty and a minute later I open the transactions tab which shows around 74 k bounty. But I'm a noob when it comes to image or video hosting so I don't really have a way to report it.

Also I have no idea how to reproduce this issue, it seems completely random and happens maybe 1 in 20 pirate attacks or less - so it may be very difficult to track it down.
