.. a Raxxla physically present in Elite: Dangerous, who can say? Elite canon has proven itself to be a shifting mass of concepts, places and times - very Raxxla like...
Ahh thanks that is some interesting background on Holdstock i wasnt aware of. I do love some of those graphic books put together around that time (going to have to check out the Alien World now). I guess my perspective is that the mystery of raxxla would have to fit in the elite universe as it exists now (and all we really have at this point is the name raxxla and its connection to the dark wheel). i was having a bit of fun with the gpm map stuff... But since we have been told it exists and there will be no clues ... I cant help but think (atleast in this elite) raxxla might be more than just a name.
The professor Palin mission where you have to deliver Unknown resins - I had that mission in my inbox but it timed out as I was working on something else at the time. Will I get that mission again or do you only get it once?

Would someone please be so kind and check my work here and help me find where I went wrong. The scan below was taken from MEL 22 Sector IO-G B11-1. I'm trying to decode one of the three signals. My understanding is the first value is (fractional) distance to Merope, second is the system where the scan was taken, and the third is to Col 70 Sector FY-N c21-3.
Concerns:
- "Target to Merope" looks small considering current system is 120-130 ly from Merope (aren't the linked systems fairly close?
- Something isn't right with my decode of the 3rd system. 4 digits / 3 digits with a leading 0? My ears must be bad.
This is the first one I've tried to do and I am still getting used to separating the data in the signal. Is there two flavors of "high"? Some of the HHL the first two sound different.
Thanks
PS Please don't give away the system. I'm trying to chase one down myself. Just need help working through the decoding for the three distances.
Your audio for me says (looks like you have 0 and 1's wrong way around, annd some other minor errors, but for a first time cannot blame you ):
100 001 | 011 001 000
001 001 | 011 111 010
001 000 101 001 | 111 110 100

Your sound is not so clear, I did so many of them so it is easier for me I guess.
I always look first and listen only when in doubt, example of one of my recordings:
1 (low) has a thin line at the bottom, but on the second group there is interference, so you cannot see it clearly, then I listen to verify
If you head to Mia from the bubble, hang a right, the starting system where I am is near the edge of the UA sphere, so the numbers above make sense. I'm going to try and wing it and see if I can find it.
We have spent too much energy running from Klaxos to have to deal with this meatbag argument that there was nothing there before 2.3. It is not our fault you sheep are blind and are just standing around doing menial tasks for your Dynasty Overlords while you wait for them to dump more credit food in your trough. It was there, we saw it, we see everything in the black of space. Drew has confirmed on multiple occasions it was a derelict Anaconda. The overall mystery was not a simple PoI, it is the Dynasty Conspiracy. But it is ok, continue to be herded by them. Continue to do your CG's, debate your baseless scientific theorys, obsess over HIP and COL, Discover all new content within a week then complain about the lack of content, life as usual. Be sheep, meatbags. The Klaxians are coming and you will be wholly unprepared.
There's passenger transport missions where the person being transported doesn't like being scanned. So being scanned by authorities, even if nothing is wrong, will cause them to get angry.
@Factabulous - Considering the amount of permits required to access long standing regions of 'empty' space; would it be wise to open a few of the older records of Pilots Federation activities? As they being the majority holders of information; the ramifications of finding deliberate coverups and/or dealings with specific groups could be quite destructive, though quite helpful to many research groups.
I'll explain my theory the best I can. However due to the nature of the theory most evidence is conjecture and/or quite hard to prove. I will update this post. Back then, it was just a hunch with no supporting evidence. it might still be.
Originally when I floated the idea of where Raxxla would likely be I was met with quite a bit of skepticism, and rightly so. Trolls prey on the idea, others just laugh when I give my answer.
Shintara, aka Founders World is my answer. It is home to a power hungry corps of elites, shrouded in secrecy, protected through mis-information, and is the seat of power for The Dark Wheel and the Elite Federation of pilots. Not only does Shintara fit all of the criteria outlined by Raxxla's myth, you would be hard pressed to find another canidate this close.
Major Spoilers for Drew Wagar's Mutabilis
In the book several individuals were killed by an elite assasin for possibly knowing/possessing information on Raxxla's location.
Considering above spoiler as knowledge being highly publicised (minus the Raxxla bit) in Galnet, one could not draw a sound conclusion of a PF coverup. However, the plot may go further yet.
Many of us know who 'Besieger' is. Most recall his acts during Salomé's run. The Rifters could tell you countless details about the Dynasty ordeal.
What if I could tell you the puppet masters behind it, with proof?
SDC was selected as a Colonia Canidate by the PF, and funded by their coffers. What the PF cannot control, they stifle or destroy. The PF lives on an information monopoly, selecting what needs to be heard. Ship UI, Station Firmware, Galnet, Galmap, Crimes, Bounties, Market Data, and more are controlled by the Pilots Federation. Colonia's extistance threatens that; as did those who carried the Raxxla intel, even Salomé.
With this in mind, the Thargoids, Dynasty, Raxxla, The Missing, (due to affiliation via interaction) the Guardians, Halsey, Jaques, Palin, the Cerberous plague; all end up pointing at the Pilots Federation. With enough time I might be able to even link Hengest Duval's assasination and Emperors Dawn back to them.
My suggestion? Keep an eye out for more links and references. It sounds crazy now, though it may become clearer over time. Go to Shinrarta Dezhra and read all the beacons. Shintara may be just a red herring. However it seems to be the start of quite the rabbit hole.
I'll keep digging to see what else they may be hiding. Raxxla is just the start...
The Holdstock Theory
Since Robert Holdstock (and all of his pen names) authored The Dark Wheel novella included with FE1, I looked for mention of Raxxla in his previous works. I had found one, The Alien World. It decribed a race of reptillian creatures who sow discord via proxies, shadows, and psycological warfare. They were known as the Osio-Raxxlans. My first interpretation from a slightly cynical perspective was of a governmental allegory due to the whole 'reptillian' theme. In taking the Osio-Raxxlan's traits (minus scales) overlain with the agenda and ways of the PF makes me wonder if it was intentional.
The Shintara Issue
The rare good 'Waters of Shintara' speaks of a medicinal spring. We've all heard the shtick, medicinal spring water. What's weird is stories like that crop up on the old worlds and amongst tribal groups. Shintara (Founders World) is a relatively new terraformed world (or so Galmap says). Also, why change the name of the planet? This suggests either a discrepancy in the lore or a hint at a coverup.
David Braben's Clue (actual tinfoil)
'It is in the game.' 'We (Frontier) know where it is.' 'There will be no clues.' (There is an article on Drew Wagars site with Braben's response.)
So Raxxla does exist. Better yet, we have another link... Why state 'We (Frontier) know where it is.' when it's existance in Elite Dangerous was already confirmed? In Elite, Frontier are always represented as the PF when anything requires their ingame input (Ship release, Station Changes, etc.). So am I to take that the PF know where it is?
'There will be no clues.' Suggests that either they have said too much, or that the leads are already in-game.
I'd take this all in with a pinch of salt. The PF links however are quite solid.
Anacondas and the ability to scan ships have been in the game since Gamma. {…} An Anaconda with cryptic text logs would be brushed off as unimportant if we didn't know the rest of the story.
As I keep pointing out, this isn't true. Your memory of what the game used to be able to do in earlier releases is clouded by what it can do now.
I challenge you (or anyone else) to provide a single screenshot, or video, from prior to 2.2 of a space-based asset providing any kind of text log that is not randomly generated/picked.
Makes me think the best option for humanity is to try to wipe out you Oresrians. If we try to make peace with you we'll become the Klaxian's enemies. If we wipe you out they might just leave us alone.
If you head to Mia from the bubble, hang a right, the starting system where I am is near the edge of the UA sphere, so the numbers above make sense. I'm going to try and wing it and see if I can find it.
This looks reasonable. One thing to note is that the denominators should be "round" numbers, something like 1000, 500, 250, 200, 125, or 100, etc, as they are here. If you get some odd-ball number then that's a sure sign your transcription is wrong.

Fdev had the tools to insert to insert text into our comms logs, how it's done is NOT important for the player, fdev had the tools to make it work.
Why does randomly generated/picked logs mean it couldn't be fixed order? That it couldn't is speculation.
Why does randomly generated/picked logs mean it couldn't be a single entry forcing the same text every time? It doesn't, and it's still speculation.
I understand that you don't believe there was anything there early on in the game but there is no evidence to say there was nothing, whereas there are statements that there was actually something to be found (regardless of what that something was) and it changed over time.
Anyway, this is off topic given its the canonn thread, feel free to pm me if you want to continue. o7
