Quick suggestion: Remove Powerplay updates from Galnet so we can actually read it.

So I for one haven't read galnet since powerplay, despite it being the first thing I would browse when I logged on previously. As a result I've lost track of the story completely, which is a damn shame because keeping track through news reports was amazing and gave a great sense of being linked to the world.

Powerplay updates should be in a seperate screen, perhaps in the actual powerplay section, where they belong. The reports are massively game-y and sound wrong coming from galnet.

First and foremost though, remove them from galnet.

P.S, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, remove the lists of system states too, we now have a galmap filter for that...

ALTERNATIVE: If people don't like that idea, a filter as exists in many parts of the game, so you can see news only, or powerplay only, or whatever...

I think you actually need stories on Galnet first to actually necessitate a filter for it.

Plus, just, like, scroll down a bit for other stories! There are not that many posted each day to wade through. At best, you have about 2 CG stories, autogenerated top.....stories (which I agree are pants and need to go) and the hourly Powerplay update (which could be put as a figure on each power tab).

The real problem at the moment is catching up if you get behind, if you read every day then sure, but if you take a break for a few months its a complete pain and not really worth it for the few stories. What happened to all the cool news articles and universe depth in the news we got before powerplay?

I get your angle, but Powerplay only occupies the top slot, the real issue is that at most FD publish in a week:

1 unique story

1 story re Canonn / aliens

5 auto generated top 10

2 CG success / fail

There is no real way in game to scroll back, so the only way to catch up is via the internet Galnet that stores stories by date. Local stories get lost in the autogenerated feed in stations even faster.

The other reason why stories have dried up is mainly down to the player submission forum changing after some players threw a tantrum. The new system is awful, and killed the enthusiasm of the writers community.

Powerplay in itself did not kill anything, it actually gave us more to write about. However, FD have not used these tier 1 NPCs at all so they are stuck in limbo.

Yep, this. Then we can just set the filter to filter out the chaff.

And if we wanna see the chaff for some reason, just flip it back on.

Seems best, and probably easiest to implementv (because removing features is never good)

You'fd be surprised how mny folk ply power play and read those repoerts. Plus burying them would bury power play a little.

I'd rather see the return of player submitted content. It was stuck behind a submission fomr and conseqently has become a dry spot in the game.

What might be a good idea: add a tab / area where you have main Galnet and a new tab like a local version showing all player submitted stories. This way more people can see them, and they don't get instantly buried.

True - though the system states lists do also describe what the states are and why they might be important to a pilot in the only in-game source for that information.

Separating them away from the major news would be good, though.

A filter? What sort of high level jiggery pokery is this? You do realize that after 3 years, we are still unable to filter a system by, say, political state AND government at the same time.

A Not, AND or OR Filter is clearly beyond the programming abilities or time allotment budget of FDEV. Remember they still haven’t released their third franchise yet, so priorities are currently (and forever?) divided.
