Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

Thargoid mission linked with black box... I was given the mission by PRE. Jumping into the mission site, a all to familiar site was seen. Destroyed dropship class vessel and a single thargoid flower egressing from OA. Mission payout was high.

Gonna need some more details. Was this yet again more seemingly XBOX only content (I have never found a single wreckage site like that and i sat in supercruise for days). I have never been given such a mission. How did you trigger it? What did you do?

Sounds/looks like old content - probably somewhere on front page

There is NO Xbox or PC or PS4 exclusive content. Thargoids are everywhere!

Except for some reason Console version has had that for a while now (either by error or not) while its almost impossible or is impossible to find on PC version. I myself spent days looking for one, along with other people, never found it. And unless I overlooked something I've seen zero proof anyone on PC has found it outside of PTR / Beta test servers.

Well, here's a post about the missions July 2nd : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...0-The-Canonn?p=5680313&viewfull=1#post5680313

CMDR also posted about recent beta changes (no link for obvious reasons) in a way that makes it clear he experienced them. No beta on XBOX. QED.

Statements from FDev are Evidence.

If you're going to wait for FD to confirm something is in-game, then you'd be better off with Star Citizen!

We can't rep you again so +1Vrep

Moving toward Bubble checking systems with Ancient Ruins, so far fungal trees on:

HIP 39768
A 14 D A -34.3570 // 126.3179

IC 2391 Sector FL-X b1-7
A 3 -7.0199 // 3.7237
A 2 32.3710 // -66.7544

Synuefe XR-H d11-1 - no trees after checking 5 craters

Found some trees in Pencil Sector (never seen any ruins listed here, but it is in general Guardian area)
Pencil Sector OC-U a3-2
A 2 A 74.4974 // -113.2824
A 2 A 26.9764 // -177.0129
A 2 A 74.5058 // -113.2752

Pencil Sector ZU-P b5-0

4 26.7208 // -35.4759 (icy)

Does this apply everywhere? Or is there some sort of Brain Tree Bubble? We are just heading back from the Zurara, we may be able to search along the road home.

That's going to be tricky, to say the least.

According to the rather vague explanations given by Luko in Premonition, the power structure is somewhat confusing.

A few quotes:

Luko: 'Shinrarta is the world of the Founders, they who sit above the Pilots’ Federation. Is said they have much power, but they are not the Dark Wheel, I think.’

Rebecca: ‘You think the Dark Wheel advertises on a station board in plain sight? That we need rookie pilots to drag a couple of tonnes of thrumpberry flavouring across to Hutton Orbital? A trivial ploy to keep the Founders off our backs.

Rebecca: '‘You should not consider the Dark Wheel a single organisation, gentlemen. How could it survive for so long if it were? The Wheel has many levels, many hubs, cogs, gears and spokes. It is more akin to an affiliation of organisations that share certain common goals. Interlocking in purpose.'

Raan and Luko: ‘Wait,’ Raan couldn’t hold back. ‘Raxxla is a fairy story for children, what you’re talking about is those crazy stories about the Dark Wheel …’ ‘Not the same.’ Luko shook his head. ‘Not the same at all. They(The Club) need no names, no identification. They just are. As for Raxxla, what better way to hide it than make it out to be a myth? Only the crazy ones go looking …’

All of those are good tidbits of evidence to go on, unless you are grumpy...

Interesting post about how 2.4 will play out on Forums:

So what they are doing is taking this thread and giving it its own subforum? Does this mean the canonn thread dies and is reborn anew as a subforum?

I think there will be plenty going on in this thread once THEY start to Return!

You missed us didn't you!! ADMIT IT!

Only those that are doing long-range exploration missions; the Goid hoi polloi are massing in Col70 waiting for their expedition packed lunches and jars of Tasty Pilots' BBQ Sauce to arrive, but they'll be here Soontm! ;)

I wish I could be everywhere to check, looks like they are in general Guardian Ruins area, there is tons of them next to bubble, but Factabulous found some next to ruins outside of this area (PRUA PHOE US-B D86) . I am slowly moving away from Col 173 sector and still finding trees, but single pilot cannot do much :)
Thargoid or not, please check things on your way back, you never know, fungal tree fruit sauce can go really good with human meat :)

To remind, look for landable volcanic body with temperature 209K-496K, fly in glide over splash crater, scanner setup to max range, look for POI.

I did miss you, you gigantic murderous insectoid you! (Though I'm never sure which of you I'm talking to) [alien]

but saying "Statements from FDev are Evidence" is like saying "hen's teeth are sharp"; either may or may not be true, but the chance of ever getting either is infinitesimally small! :)

(and if you run out of rep for me, I always welcome bottles of good brandy or single malt!:D)

All we are saying is, if Fdev comes out and makes a statement saying "Raxxla is real, its in the game, you can access it right now" We would take that as solid proof over anyone else making the same statement. If the creators say it, it is! Our hive mind compels us to believe what our creator says. All hail the Thargoqueen!

The question is: what is Raxxla ? (in E: D lore)

Raxxla is most likely just a standard non-landable ELW in some random system with the name changed to "Raxxla" instead of whatever procedural name it would normally have in that system.

This is also probably why they're not going to give out clues for it - they don't want it found until they can do something awesome with it.

I disagree. It's probably some inconspicuous planet with a random name. You wouldn't know it is it even if you were next to it because there are no in-game methods (yet) for confirming that particular planet's true identity. This is why 'We (Frontier) know where it is' and why 'There will be no clues'. Besides, as you mention, finding Raxxla is a tempting story arc that might be explored in the future - you wouldn't want players to find it too early, wouldn't you?

Statements from FDev are Evidence.

There were statements from FDev on numerous occasions claiming the Guardian Puzzle is working as intended. These statements were later proved to be, ahem, erroneous. So, again, statements (even FDev statements) cannot be considered evidence of anything.
