Can we get a screen safe zone option

As the title says can we get a screen safe zone option, quite a bit of my outfitting info at the bottom of my screen is cut off meaning i cant see some of the stats correctly.

Yeah i have edited the FOV however this is an issue for quite a few games on xbox, as elite is really the only game i play with this issue that still gets updates i thought its worth a shot suggesting it (i had the issue with elite on pc and the pc in general so i'm having to run at an awkward resolution).

Is you tv display your xbox right might be zooming in slightly if the fit to screen or auto zoom on. Mine does that if fit to screen is turned off, Not sure but worth a check in your tv's display settings.

I think you have issues with overscan, as previous commanders say. Most games really use safe zone for hud elements, but in general the picture quality is degraded (zoomed in) so you don't want to stay like that imho. Overscan means your TV will cut some lines and zoom in (television use those for specific info transmission, but it's not ok for dvd/gaming.
Check TV settings for picture format (where 16:9, 4:3, etc. are) - some vendors call it Just, some 1:1, some full pixel.. essentially it is "disable overscan".

This might give more information:

There are no options in my tv relating to overscan hence this post. My temporary solution has been to move the picture up so that the stat isnt completely off the screen (think its the jump range stat)

Interesting, never seen such TV honestly. Would you mind sharing the vendor and model?

Experienced a similar problem recently, I had 16:9 overscan selected on my tv menu for no reason. I know you have previously mentioned you haven't got this option on your tv but is there a default setting available?

Only screen options i have are Aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9 and zoom) and horizontal and vertical position.

Yes, old TVs might not have it...but check also all settings (per input, advanced, etc.) - sometimes the feature is hidden there instead..
Worth trying to access service menu also..
Can't xbox adjust the size somehow?

Those are literally the only display settings i have (aside from colour adjustments), ill check xbox to see if it has that option but i don't think it does.

In the xbox settings there is an HDMI setup section. There is a picture size template in there that is supposed to help you tell viewable area. On the tv I use for the xbox the arrows go off the edge of the screen but Elite seems to work fine.

It might be worth having a look at that too.

Yeah i saw this but the issue is i have no option to resize my display so the template is useless

I'm almost certain that the xb1 has a toggle or something similar for over scan, I remember having to adjust it once or twice when it changed after an update.

Does your TV have input labeled PC? If yes, connect the xbox there and see if there would be a difference. If you have thr possibility, rename thr input to PC-should also do the magic trick, disabling old stuff.. But without service menu access we're just guessing...

Silly questions stuff to cover, your forgiveness please.

My TV (a now ageing Toshiba) has similar options. It also has a "native" setting, which I use with the Xbone. Is it possible within the menu structure somewhere there maybe a similar option, possibly in an advanced section?

From the image you've posted it would appear to be trying to zoom the image a tad. Or as previously pointed out under/over scanning.

Is it a "HD Ready" - 720p or "Full HD" 1080p panel?

How are you connecting the Xbone to the TV? - HDMI, HD Composite, etc?

If you are able to ID the make model of the device I could be very useful in troubleshooting this. Even just a photo of the back plate would help. There are some very knowledgeable AV geeks out there.

Are you able to update the TV's firmware in anyway? Does it have an ethernet port, or WiFi? It may also have an update available OTA.

Identifying what panel & boards are actually present in the black plastic case would be really helpful. There are only a few plants worldwide that manufacture them, which are then resold.

Last silly question what setting are you currently using? 16:9 or zoom?

Apologies, but must get the daft stuff covered first.
