Question about EDSM 3D Map.

In this rather uninspiring screenshot of the map you can quite clearly see linear "tracks" of stars. In other places there are clusters.

I have often wondered what/why they might be but now I'm in the middle of nowhere in proper explorer mode I am wondering if these are routes of submitted stars from previous explorers?

Am I leaving the same trail as I sync with EDSM regularly?

Yes it's exactly that. Those are the stars EDSM knows and has received from people like us who use EDD and EDSM and send all the scans as they happen.

Yes, you are. You can 'hide' the line between your visited stars (one of the options up there), making your own string of stars more visible, similar to the others you see.

Yar it was eventually spotting my line of stars that helped me put this whole crazy puzzle together!

It's a pretty powerful tool, when you finally get used to it :D
