I'm confident you'll enjoy this. One tip for you. Getting strength 3 is worth it. Aside from giving you access to loads of places throwing heavy stuff at things is very useful in a game where traditional ammo is scarce.

This is Half life mixed with Alien Isolation and that is a good thing. The EVA is super and I just love to float around the station, it's huge imagine what it would be like in ED

Been impressed with Prey so far, once you are past the opening stages and you wrap your head around the Gloo gun it opens up the possibilities enormously. It is more like System Shock than Alien Isolation (which is well presented but offers little choice and interaction).

That thing is tough and you'll find more of them. Probably one of the toughest enemies in the game.
I found that throwing heavy at them at strength level 3 was best then running away. At least until you can put serious points into the "magic" tree. Please please get strength 3...its a great skill that can be very offensive and it also opens a lot of doors.
Took it out with the stun gun, its a great tool, you just need to sneak up close to use it.
Again the EVA is excellent done.
I completely missed the Q beam weapon despite unlocking the area where it resides, watch out for that when you play through
