Flustered and Frustrated - Need Help

I've been wandering about the outskirts of sol for the last hour or so...
I followed the instructions to find Voyager, but for reasons I fail to comprehend I just can't find the beast.

Lots of USSs and the odd NPC, but nothing promising...

Can anyone help?

It used to be easy to find but ages ago they changed it so that you need to be within 1000 ls for it to be visible as is the case with combat zones, hazres sites, etc. If you do get close enough it will appear as (I think) "ancient probe", you won't find it in any random USS. I did try once after the change using a video someone had posted to try and get the direction right but I wasn't successful. I'm sure some have found it since then though so it is possible.

Yeah, seems most random...

I found them both relatively easy, with the help of aforementioned videos.
Take good care to fly towards correct backgroud stars until at desired distance, and then just keep your distance to Sun correct and align it right with the background stars.

Commenting mainly to subscribe as a reminder o7
I tried looking way back when I first got the Sol permit. Perhaps surprising, but randomly flying zig zags out passed Pluto didn't work.

I think I spent nearly an hour at full speed so I would have been way way passed too. But it was before joining the forums so I had no method/direction. Space was only 2D back then too ;)
The fount of knowledge that this forum is, is pretty amazing

It is when we're not being salty.
And yeah, I remember 2d space when I graduated from the PF academy back in '84. Couldn't even find Sol then, let alone Voyager.
