Don't forget the prequels.

Forget the prequels. They were just building a solid technical foundation to really ramp up production to allow tech to enable true community participation in defining handcrafted openly-developed and procedurally generated, never attempted before, genre defining, AAAAA^A^A acted - scripted on the finest, purest shimmering samite, a true wonderous realisation of what every game should be, exemplified in the perfection of the Vision.

If someone who would fake it, would take care about details. Also wouldn't mind create fake identity.

I would say that refund is real (CIG PR denying it is like meh, really, media, you gonna believe them NOW?) and of course knights of CIG order were summoned and vola guy is removed from online without his side of story to prove.

It is fun however though that whatever CIG tries, it won't stop refund deluge.

If you hate SC, why post in this thread?

I posted here because I gave them $60 and I'm hoping they finish the game. I was looking for more information. Why are you posting? You know it's a scam that will never be released. Are you on some mission to share you prophesy and help us get refunds?

Nobody here "hates" SC. I don't even hate persons, much less something that might, one day, if enough cash will be thrown at it, something resembling a game.

Your assertion that many here "hate" SC implies that those are emotionally unstable, illogical, and therefore, can be ignored. You do ignore, however, that those same people not only give reasons and arguments, but the lion's share of those are/were backers. There is a certain amount of disillusion, certainly, but whose fault is that? Magic Robert's, maybe? The man who spouts about toilets, mixing drinks, flight attendant uniforms and playing DJ in space, even while there is so little of the game actually FINISHED?

Dunno. As I said, I do not hate anything. I would LOVE to see SC come out and be as good as some claim it'll be. I just do not believe (due to the total, utter lack of evidence) that this will be done with CR at the helm.

There are people who post to this thread that claim to have received a refund. I have no proof that they're telling the truth. For all I know, no-one has ever received a refund, and the funding timeline called "Stretch Goals" on the RSI website is 100% accurate.

If so, and CIG has been handed $159M, then I have very strong circumstantial evidence that they are running very low on funding. And I have direct personal evidence that they are consistently under-delivering on their goals to deliver a game. Putting all emotion and tribalism to one side, I can see that CIG is very unlikely to deliver a game that I want to play. And that means that I wouldn't want a substantial preorder on that putative game, and if I had pledged a large amount then I would be requesting a refund.

This is a terrible shame. The game as pitched (however many years ago it was) sounded ambitious but achievable, exciting and immersive, and I would have loved to play that game.

Edti: updated the current funding total. It's $6M higher than when I last looked a few months back.

It's not the repetition that makes it a grind, it's whether you find that repetition boring. Every single game ever made is full of repetition, life is full of repetition, it's how it is presented is what is important though. So in ED, I only do stuff I enjoy and find fun. I mix it up as much as possible, and it doesn't become a grind for me.
Agree. I only used the term "grind" in a wider definition, so yes, it becomes a grind when it's boring and when the player wishes to do something else but feels compelled to continue against their feelings because they "have to". And the need might be that he/she just have to have that rank or credits or whatever. So in the end, it's something the player chooses to do or continue and create the "grind" feeling. Go and do something else for a while.

So outside the Refund fake news or not drama

Any progress on the game or news about SQN 42?

lol no

A company, which delivered a module 1 year after telling it was coming in couple of weeks, is asserting a $45K refund is a lie and in fact a $300 one. They sure must know what they're talking about :)

SC/SQ42 could never happen, they won't make a good movie... But this mess would make an absolute stellar documentary. I'm pretty sure the new CIG entity is for securing a documentary.

"Aiming For The Stars, Ending Stuck In The Stool: The making of Star Citizen. Coming in a theater near you in two weeks, sort of™".

I really hope some one IS making a documentary with behind the scenes footage. I think C Roberts would be a very eccentric, quirky character and his mishandling of the whole project would make great viewing lol.

Hold that thought. Some guy has come onto a certain Discord channel and claimed he is $45k guy.
What do you guys make of it...?

Edit: He has a LOT of work to prove who he says he is!

:D

*Don't want to name and shame...!

It's easy, post what CS answered combined with the credit card extraction, just the date and a mount of deposit would be enough.

I can easily prove that, an email from cig CS would be ok?

Discussing refunds on the SC subreddit is really frowned upon, threads will even get deleted because they're negative towards SC/CIG but as soon as it's the other way around you're allowed to make as big of a deal of refunds as you want.
