Oculus - Info panel angle in galaxy & system map

The one really annoying thing that really needs attention for playing in VR. I hope, it finally gets adressed in the QoL-, feature- and bugfix-update after 2.4.

I'll double check when I get home today but I'm pretty sure it shows up straight for me. I don't recall it being displayed on an angle like shown in your picture.

Thanks, I'd be really curious to know if that's different. I also saw this image:

Which is someone playing in VR and the panels are angled much more sensible. That's what made me think there must be an option or something which affects it.

You seem to be a bit oddly positioned in your photo, a bit too far forward.

Have you reset your view?
Default key being f12.

Yup. Been resetting the view a lot but it doesn't seem to help. My view and positioning is fine in ship, but doesn't seem to help the galaxy / system maps.

I'm using Oculus and the galaxy and systems map are not angled. Best guess, based on the screenshots, is an issue relating to your sensor set up. Before Oculus I had the HDK2 and regularly experienced the same problem because of poor positional tracking (which is a known issue with the HDK2).

So, make sure your beacons are evenly spaced and facing directly to the front where you sit (i.e. not slightly angled). Then run the sensor set up again just to make sure your HMD has an accurate reference for center-front. Then, as already suggested above, center your view after you start ED so the game view is definitely lined up with the direction you're facing.

Cheers

I double checked mine and they are not angled as shown in the pictures. They are perfectly strait. I can make the image on the computer screen look angled if I look to the left in VR but they are perfectly strait in VR.

Hey folks,

I've just got an Oculus and am trying to tune my experience as best as possible within ED.

Is there a way to adjust the angle of the main info panel in the galaxy and system map? Within VR this isn't facing towards me so is very hard to read - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0O-TT1RwibRaUlPeUJ2SlhoSkU/view?usp=sharing.

Thanks,
Tem

That galaxy map info panel seems to be on the wrong place. I have an oculus too, but don't have any issues reading it as it is virtually in front of me. Something odd happening there, or you are positioned too far forward.

When looking around normally, you should be able to see your chest when looking down.

I repositioned the Oculus sensors last night and re-did all the calibration; still no joy.

that's not what you need to do.
the game always starts a little off so you need to recenter for the GAME.

It's a straight up keybind in the control section. default being f12.

be cause the oculus 'center' is a fair bit behind me.
And it has go be thst way, or you would literally standing inside my simply when playing echo.
I always start the game too close and low, but it's not a problem. I just the recenter button during the intro screens.

Yup, as previously mentioned I've already been doing that. My position in ship is absolutely fine after recentering, but it doesn't help with the galaxy or system maps.
