Oculus Rift and glasses and Widmo.

What does the VR-Covers faceplate actually do for you - not sure I understand what it is for?

It has velcro, instead of foam pads glued directly to it. This lets you use alternate, interchangeable pads, made from various materials (which they also sell).

OP. Thanks for making this post.

I played Elite a few months back at a mate's house. I was blown away, but everything seemed a bit blurry and out of focus. I thought it was the low resolution, but I guess it was a combination of:

  • my glasses were slightly skewy when I put on the rift
  • the rift didn't quite fit properly due to my wide framed glasses
  • I forgot about changing the IPD

All in all though, the experience was amazing; I'm looking forward to being blown away again when I can see everything properly!

Hopefully O.R. will come down in price again when M/S MR partners release their products.

Yes I found glasses in the Rift were just hopeless, contacts were a whole lot better, but the WIDMO lenses have been then answer for me, if you get your prescription right nothing will be blurry or out of focus, still not as good as the Rift with normal vision, meaning no contacts - glasses or adaptive lenses, but good enough to thoroughly enjoy using VR, in my view at least.

Hehe. I cannot remember what "normal" vision is, so I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm 47 now and been wearing glasses since I was 7. I put them on 1st thing in the morning & they come off when I get into bed at night. I even put them on even if I go to the loo in the middle of the night!
