PvP Fuel Corgi gets got 65k LY from bubble - SDC Special

Thats the spirit brother. I have tons of rebuys myself. And its how I started getting into PVP. I seen there wasn't many people out there to stop the bad guys. So thats how I got started.

Just remember its okay to lose. Its okay to get blown up. And those same guys are pretty neat to talk to in and out of the game as long as you have the right attitude. Good luck out there dude.

The thing I don't like is the manipulation of people to put them in a situation they completely control. So there is zero risk and they are just, well shooting newbs or 'fish in a barrel' so to say..... what is the point? I don't get the fun they have at all - it seems they only pleasure off of other people's frustration. Which is what I believe es people off about them.

Again, I'm not trying to talk crap.... I just don't get what is so fun about these pointless ganks or gangbangs they host, all the while they giggle like little schoolgirls in the background of videos. Cool man, just plain cool

Combat is part of this game. The video shows combat in action, one party lost because came unprepared for a fight. It happens, next time they will come more prepared.

I never said it wasn’t part of the game, I said it was boring and PvP was even more so.

moderators (…) might be incredibly biased towards PvP posters, (…)

That's not true at all and I'll take this opportunity to apologize to the mods. In this specific thread, they're pretty much shielding the PvPers / known murder hobo posters against much inadequate aggression, while trying to set a light mood with their comments. Specially Agony Aunt. I'm sorry for having criticized you in the past. Just recently I've found your work is entirely voluntary, non remunerated. Keep up the harsh work and please put up with us. We need you. Warts and all.

When you see their moderation in threads like Stigbob's (in)famous blockmongering call, it really looks like they cater to the PvE community. And in a lot of other threads. But recently they've been really cool when moderating "bad guys'" threads too.

True enough, but the implication in that post is that this was a deliberate baiting effort by said group.

Or maybe that post was bait in and of itself. ;) How far down does the rabbit hole go and how many turns does it make along the way? Who knows? Who cares? Fortunately not something I have to particularly worry about.

Best of luck to those that do.

The video isn't about combat though, it's about ganking and greifing. There is a very large difference: one is desirable in a game and even enjoyable, the other is not, at least not for the victim. It's toxic behavior plain and simple and it has only one purpose: to bully and inconvenience people. There are no credits to be earned, no reputation to be gotten, no war to win, no enemy to push back, just....greifing. The strong putting down the weak or unexpecting. That is not "combat" sir, that is bullying pure and simple.

The people who support this type of behavior will probably now call me names and insult me, but whatever, I feel like that just needed to be corrected.

I will very soon be offering to escort traders, even if all I can be right now is a distraction until I'm dead, that will be enough, and I will get better.

And that is awesome. But: Just look around you and count in your fingers how many righteous, morality defender players do the same.

Its combat. Not a balanced fight, but this is an open world game infected with rng, no fight is 100% balanced unless you go to CQC.

Dont ever travel weaponless or shieldless in an open world space ship shooting game, otherwise you will be the loosing party in any fight which might occur unexpected.

Weaponless is fine, and often even advantageous, depending on what you consider "winning." I wouldn't recommend shieldless in general though.

This is exactly my point. This is the equivalent of a kid going to get a popsicle from the freezer, seeing that it was the last one, and then purposely going to eat it in front of their siblings, all the while saying "Mmmm this popsicle sure is good. Bet you wish you had one." And then when the kid gets scolded by the parents, just saying "What? I was just eating a popsicle!"

Trying to imply that this was "just a PvP video" is childish and disingenuous. There was a mod that outright said that they felt this crossed the line into griefing territory and STILL no action was taken to moderate the thread. WHY?

Yeah, big agree from me. The mods have been unusually awesome on this thread, and I personally really appreciate it.

That's true, but the intent of the thread was quite clear from the very first post.

Very likely true, but never the less, I don't mind giving them the benefit of doubt here, but that's most likely because I don't find the content of the OP to be particularly significant in the grand scheme of things. To me the actual discussion from other posters in this thread is more interesting and compelling.

Because it doesn't violate any of the forum rules, as stated by multiple mods in this thread. They may not personally agree with the content, but as long as rules aren't violated, they won't remove it.

Like it or not, this is a forum for us just as much as it is for you. If it bothers you, don't read the threads.
