Yes, that's my thinking as well. Anything that offends in Dangerous Discussions can now be banished to this sub forum. Mods knew it was coming so relaxed their usual pro-PvE anti PvP standards.

PvP players have repeatedly asked for a PvP subforum. I would have thought you'd be happy, especially now it looks like posts here may not be held to the same standard they are in DD.

It was a change a long time in the making. :)

Think of it this way: It's a home for PvPers to discuss PvP. It's legit. If FD didn't consider it a worthwhile topic they'd hardly allocate a forum for it.

This sub forum was created with one intention in mind: to sweep any and all discussion under the rug that dares to offend the sensibility of the PvE crowd. This isn't where these conversations are going to be held, it's where they're going to die.

Now that's an interesting thought. I wonder if victims will be able to post videos of being ganked in this forum as well, without being reprimanded or banned? That would certainly be more fair than it has been.

Just looking at the rage and reactions from the community over some PvP (with one ship showed up weaponless for some reason), I believe we will see alot more of those types of videos. I mean, looks like OP archieved exactly what they were looking for: Salt. Congrats.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this new PvP forum. If the naming and shaming rules are indeed more relaxed here then this could be a great place to really dig deep and talk in detail about both the good and the bad of PvP in the game.

If you are right though and it's just a place to throw PvP topics to die, then I'm sorry Jason. [downcast]

How active it is depends on you, the PvP players. You can't expect PvE players to keep it alive. Will you use this subforum as a place to discuss PvP, or will you ignore anything posted here and let it become a graveyard?

It will probably be a poor place to bait PvE players by gloating over griefing. But that's better for everybody (especially the poor mods), and might make way for more genuine conversations about legitimate PvP to take place.

Naming and Shaming rules are not relaxed...they remain in full force forum-wide.

I can't see that's much of an issue, since N&S content != Legit PvP content

Either way, I never understood the need for a PVP section, unless it was about CQC or something specific. To me the option for PVP is just part of the game, same as PVE. Having it segregated implies that it's something different than the base game. To me, PVP is ideally* just a part of PVE, as other players are part of the environment.

Oh well.

*Unfortunately though, many of the actions of PVP and PVE players don't make sense within the context of the game universe, and as such are often to be avoided for a more enjoyable gaming experience overall, for some. Personally, I'd prefer a hardcore mode where ship/SRV/SLF loss (Commander death) meant a character wipe.

N&S content like showing a video of a gank (the poster being a victim) is strickly speaking PvP since it's a battle? of two player ships.

Um, and yet, this thread still isn't locked? This is the contrarianism I don't get on the forums: how gankers posting vids of blowing victims up is okay to post, yet victims posting vids of getting blown up is not simply because it also shows the aggressor. It's very much like the game itself, the victims lose the most and assume all the risk while the gankers are risk free and suffer very little to no consequences. Ah well, I thought for a sec things might be improved.


Okay Jason, I feel for you man, I am so sorry and I know you were genuinely excited for a bit today. My condolences. :(

Can you still post salt mining videos in the main thread? No point putting it here since majority of the salt donors are mobians/pve/solo crowd.

Can't speak authoritatively about forum rules of course, but I believe trolling has always been against the rules on every subforum.
