Pleiades Sector IH-V C2-5 he is in a unknown signal source right beside the sun, went back in and record this fight.

Not even sure if I scratched him.

That was AWESOME!!!!

Same here, it attacked without provocation, I returned fire, and ran at 50% hull. No visible damage to Thargoid.

2nd and 3rd one opened up on me, others in game saying the same 50-50 chance of it attacking.

Not sure if I hurt it, focused on its drones the 2nd time. Just seemed to it off even more.

My shields seem to be useless as it is hitting my hull without shield damage.

So...they can chew through out hull, but we cant damage them with our standard weapons? Cant even fight back until we go get some special anti alien weapons instead?

Thats not combat. Thats developer endorsed trolling.

I hope this isnt true.

The devs announced we would need specialized weaponry to take a Thargoid vessel down.
Until we have those we might be wise to avoid engaging them, especially when we are alone.

Is this special tech something we can buy at stations? And is it any good against normal, AI ships?

Other forum users in other threads seem to have seen a pattern of them attacking when fired upon or upon detecting their probes or sensors in our cargo holds.
