I think it is, might try a cascade torpedo when I get a chance to play, full loadout, see what happens

we were dealing damage, down to 98% max but it regenerated health quicker than we could damage it...

The current community goals are for researching new scanners and weapons.

Hopefully they're delivered sooner rather than later

Yes but this CG should have started a week ago and concluded today, not to mention scanners alone wouldn't really reveal anything if conventional weapons do literally no damage and or is repaired seconds later anyway. Basically the Thargoids are this unkillable mystery at the moment that we still have zero interactions with. Its either watch what there doing from a distance, or get up close and risk being destroyed and there isn't anything you can do about it but run.

Don't get me wrong its cool that there's this mysterious threat but I still find it hard to believe that there technology is so far past our own that we can't defeat a single one of there ships.I mean for the love of lore they went into hiding when we developed a virus that was bent on exterminating them and prior to that while we didn't have equal footing we were at least capable of killing them, they couldn't have possibly advanced to the point were we are no longer a threat.

There not actually Thargoids and are some other crazy alien race, who destroyed the Thargoids when they went into hiding from us and have long since integrated there technology into there own, or were themselves so advanced that they also overshadowed anything the Thargoids had.
