2.3 Engineered Corvette vs 2.4 Thargoid

This is the third time we encountered a Thargoid and this time we decided to open fire...

The voice of my multi-crew fighter friend is recorded but for some reason my mic didn't record - probably for the best as lots of swearing! Thumbnail picture is courtesy of my friend CMDR Gumball.

I've not played for a few months but decided to Return with the Thargoids today.. nice to be back and very well done Frontier :)

I couldn't detect any indication of actual damage to the Thargoid. Was I missing something?

Indications are that if damage is occurring, which it probably is (huge huge reductions in damage incoming would be virtually indistinguishable from impervious), then they likely have stupidly insane regen and resistance. It sounds, very much, like a lot of people are spending time giggling like children, when they aren't terrified and pulling brave sir robins.

The longer the day goes on, without people punching thargoid tickets and getting confirmed kills, the more hope I have for this game.

I think the same as above, reduced damage + rapid regen = negligible effect.

I was surprised (oddly disappointed even) at how long I survived, but I guess I won't be saying that if a wing of 3 Thargoids attack.

at my encounter i didnt loss the shields even but we retreated... also engineered

As the Thargoid attack was bypassing the shields I decided to do some boost ramming which is why the shields went down (they are about 3600MJ). It worked in Star Trek Nemesis...
