Spent some time with Thargoids near Maia in an unarmed ASP, unaligned to any power(distress calls and non-human SS). They only deploy their hardpoints (the swarm) and attack if you get too close. If you keep your distance, they call back the swarm. Red is bad (I'm comin' for you), green is ok (stay out of my way). They seem to be collecting Thargoid Probes in particular.
Thargoid surface sites appear to be operating normally.
However, Thargoids now disable your craft with a visible 'EMP' blast.

I was Hyperdicted by a wing of 3 Thargoids...
Just before I started recording, the one you see moving away fired off an EMP before it did so, but the other 2 remained... just... looking at me, following me, not doing anything :O

If they're going to learn how to kill us better, they'll need detailed files.
Pretty sure feeding them imperial slaves is going to annoy pretty much every human faction equally, which is an achievement in itself.
