Counter offensive, anchor wing attempt, who's up for it?

From reading various reports, some people have been able to keep thargoid ships at 98-99% constantly, and that's in one ship
Ive also heard mining lasers may be more effective for some reason (bug maybe. Needs confirming), the point of this post is to work out their weaknesses and launch a multi wing counter attack with heavily modded ships
If one ship can do minimal damage, 4,5,6 or 10 ships can take it down

The plan
1. Get around 8 ships in one instance
2. Find signal source
3. Anchor wing all ships into signal source
4. Surround thargoid ship
5. All fire at once with high DPS weapons
6. ?????
7. Lose miserably, probably

Will most likely set it up for the weekend, since that's more likely to have more people and attempts

To the OP, you will lose and you will probably ragequit lol. The thargoid ship is IMMUNE to Kinetic, Thermal, Explosive damage. The only thing that upsets a thargoid into leaving is a shockmine party. If a carrier and 22 imperial couriers cannot take out one thargoid you and our 8 man team of win wont either. Frontier made these guys overpowered for a reason.
 
OP is awesome!

So far so good...it's great the Thargoid aren't just another bunch of aliens to kill and are actually OP. It is cool that you have to jump in, grab stuff as fast as you can then jump out wonder if you off the bear....

They arnt actually inmune, if you go into a ship as crew in a turret you can see their health, they take damage as normal but regen super fast

5 ships made a group effort for an hour and it was going to 99% and back to 100%, others have said they have seen it go to 98%

Some suggested that some weapons appear to heal it faster


20 ships might be able to kill it eventually, with enough DPS we might be able to overcome the regen




NPCs though, a half decent wing of 4 players could easily take out a capital ship and the entire combat zones of support ships in minutes, 20 couriers and a Capital ship don't have access to engineered weapons nor do they have DPS

A group of 8 players far outweighs the firepower of 20 imperial couriers and a capital ship piloted by NPCs

Probs pointless, they are probably locked in God Mode until the new weapons are available, otherwise the new weps would be pretty pointless.
 
Nevermind someone has managed to get 20 cmdrs attacking a thargoid for 20mins with no effects

Yeah, they’re even immune to ‘absolute’ damage from PA’s.

I’m more than a little disappointed about that. They ignore magnetically contained PLASMA, but we’ll invent some stupid magic missile that hurts them.

Yeah....


I just hope the super Thargoid magic missiles work on human targets, can’t wait to try them out.
 
But but .. it's a suicide mission Chuck.

Need bodies if possible to help get the CG's high as possible, before they expire tomorrow night.

At the end of the CG's - anti-Thargoid weaponry + sensor - will be avaiulable to more people, the higher the tier reached.
