So Thargoids can be hurt after all!

Aparently... so I took a friend in multi-crew since the gunner position can see the Thargoids health. Since the new anti-thargoid weapons are explosive based I decided to try and see if some torpedos could hurt if. My friend in the multi-crew position fired the two torpedos we had aboard and when they impacted he reported the Thargoid ship to have "flickered" it's health down to 99%. So maybe our current weapons are inefective but maybe we can hurt them after all aparently. The ship with the most hard points is an Anaconda giving it a total torpedo capacity of 14 torpedos wich should be good to deal least 7% health damage to the thargoid ship. A wing of 4 Anacondas could acording to this logic deal a 28% damage to the Targoid ship, 4 wings.... might just do the trick.

I have the thing on video but only on my end, not the gunners position.

Anyone interested in exploring this further?

I'm on Xbox and not involved with other CMDRs that play the game, so I personally can't currently help any initiative. That aside, this has been allegedly reported before. A wing once reported getting the health down to 98% after a prolonged assault. This deserves further testing, even if more effective weaponry is soon to be available.

I had this imagination that mining lasers would be very effective, just cutting off them petals one by one.

But I guess bangs and kabooms will suffice.

Killing a Thargoid with no bounty while paying for all of those torpedoes if I survive and a re-buy if I don't... Priceless. Literately.

Pretty much all games handle "god mode" in the same way; they can be technically "hit" but they have ridiculously high amounts of health that has a ridiculous regeneration rate, WoW DEVs did the same thing with their GM chars to make them invincible.

Basically, they are immune and cannot be killed without more ship than can ever be instanced together firing all at the same time. Only the new weapons and modules will take them down.

Well if you are that low on credits or care about them so much that you can't spare a few. Come on by 41 Lambda Hydrae, home of the Winter's Wolfs, we'll drop enough free beer for you to fill your cargo hold so you can go make a profit somewhere. You wouldn't be the right aplicant for the endeavor anyway.
In any case new weaponry is deployed and the thargoids are now vulnerable anyway. So no need to try such tactics anymore, a shame in my opinion.
As for the rebuy cost that's not likely to happen if one is a half competent Cmdr, I scooped 3 objects while under fire from a thargoid, including an escape pod (noo way I was letting that alien take it), and still managed to Hi-wake out with 70+% hull on my Adamastor (Anaconda).
and this would have not take as much out on any of the ships, the plan beeing look up the targoid count 1-2-3 over discord and 224 torpedoes away... success - stop and celebrate. Mission Failure - Hi-wake out.
