Anti-Thargoid Equipment after CG

Could be worse. I'm like Eric Cartman with songs. Don't ever say anything that was a lyric in any song from 1955-1985 or I will sing it. I poured my wife coffee creamer yesterday and she was like "Stop!" so I sang "Don't come around here no more" by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks. It's that bad.

Just because it is one of my favorite episodes:

"I'm sailing away..."

If anyone's interested in a failed attempt to kill a thargoid:

So now we got a few mandatory modules unless you want to ignore thargoids complety?

Pretty much. I can probably get comfortable with using dumbfires on human ships (although ammo runs out quickly), but having to use a utility slot for the scanner takes away a shield booster. However, since Thargoid weapons pass through your shields, maybe we should focus on hull reinforcement and grade instead.

Not sure if we really need the scanner - one in a wing would probably be enough ? - and if on your own - do you care as long as damage is being done ? (less effective maybe ?)

So with all this information in mind. I'm currently at Luyten's Star, ready to head on over to get everything needed for Thargoids. Which system should I go to arm up and encounter Thargoids?

I just picked a fight with one in my python. Would not recommend 1v1 combat with Thargoids yet. I was at 79% hull and 1 ring on the shields when I bugged out. I did manage to bring the Thargoid hull down to 93%. I just wasn't too keen on the $14M rebuy cost. They are very, very maneuverable in close. My python can usually hold a turn with anything with appropriate pips, but not even close with the Thargoid. Not to mention you have to worry about the main ship and the drone swarm.

You mean Alien Encounters and the weapons?

Alcazars Hope has both the new items.

HR 1185 seems to have a lot of non-human signals spawning. There's also a distress beacon there that sometimes has encounters (along with lots of loot to scoop).
