Help wanted. I need a Cobra MKIII build to take on a Thargoid Solo

You need as many AX missiles as you can install, plus the xeno scanner. Ideally you want a normal weapon to take down the emergency shield it creates, but that is more hardpoints than a Cobra has....

4t cargo to collect the physical winnings, rest hull/module reinforcement.

If you are lucky, you might, might, just solo a Thargoid in this, but i think you nwill get to Haert 3 and with its EMP blast knock you flat.

This why I suggest a joust, there may be enough momentum to get you out of range if your EMP'd and enough time for a restart.

No... just no.

Or wait until the new engineer mods come out. Then you can farm them with one arm behind your back, while watching Netflix and flying an unmodded sidewinder.

You NEED the sensors, both c2 hardpoints are anti-thargoid missiles. Put in the c1 what you are comfortable with. Make sure life support is A-rated, they like popping the canopy. Put a bi-weave in, and the rest HRP/MRP.

Actually, maybe you can bypass the hardpoint limitation by modding your missile launchers with G5 high capacity. With that, i would recommend a good shield, tons of hull HP, and chaff.

You cant mod anti-thargoid modules.

You can only install two missile-=modules because they dont fit in C1. Two modules isnt enough to solo a thargoid anyway as you cant synthesize ammo.

Going to need that second MRP and an AFMU, they do a lot of module damage.
After that good luck. Perhaps they have a week spot but after you take out one heart they get nasty.

As you did, I torched many Thargoids back in the day... However, I was using an 8-bit computer and 48K memory.

Now, I have a machine with 64GB memory and an 8GB Nvidia 1070 card.

The Thargoids have upgraded too. Prepare to be toasted.

Just took a DBX up against one. It performed well, but could have done with one more MRP... I got out with 21% hull, and my one 3D MRP was down to 1%. Will drop another MRP in and try again tomorrow. Not sure how my HRPs did.

When we start getting corrosive resistances, armor packages will perform better, I'm sure.

Didn't quite crack how to kill it, but got one heart down to 80%. Also didn't focus on the little guys. Never even targeted them.

Will get back at it tomorrow.

Fun fight!!!! :D
