Right. I got don't really have enough details on all the lore and stuff and never played the first games so I can be totally wrong here. So take this for what you will. Also this is mostly a copy paste from a conversion I was having with a friend on discord so the grammar's kinda iffy. With all that out the way...
Okay. Long story short. The end of one of the games you had 2 choices, give the Thargoids the cure and end the war peacefully or let them die off. Until Elite Dangerous reckoned that choice it's assumed you gave them the cure.
Most players gave them the cure.
But FDev said F... that, Choice never happened
Okay fast forward to now. The Thargoid bases in 2.2 and now this ship (the new crashed scout ship). Mycoid Particles found on the things. So what this means is this new war is the Thargoids coming back to force humans to get them the cure
Problem with that is there's to races of Thargoids. One we were actively fighting and one that ignored humans and also fought the first group cause of a tribal war
But I bet both have this virus now
So now the Thargoids are here to get the cure for both sides
The second tribe needs the cure because their queen or whatever ended up getting infected as well. So the choice was take the cure to the Thargoid homeworld in a final mission.
That ship in that pic, that's a ship from the first game
I bet they Thargoids we're fighting in the flower ships is the other tribe. The once we weren't at war with
So now we're at war with both damn tribes because DRAMA
Okay so you know they're capturing human escape pods but aren't actively hostile out the gate?
Why else would they not just light us up on sight? If the war was as screwed as we were lead to believe, any force regardless of race would act to protect itself from its enemy. But if this is the other tribe, we wouldn't be their enemy to begin with...
Okay that's the theory I came up with. Like I said, I don't have all the details of the lore and to be totally honest, 2.4 holds very little in the way of gameplay interest to me. But as a role player and amateur writer, this whole alien storyline does peak my attention from time to time. I think it would make sense from a story telling point of view and it does make me think us as players just going in guns blazing might be a huge mistake in the long run. We might be killing the wrong bugs atm while the other group are waiting for us to cripple each other.
That's all I got. Thoughts? Am I wrong? Do you think it's a decent idea?
