More evidence that the Thargoids are hostile and that we're already at war.

i still don't think they are mindless killing machines, for all we know all these attacks could just be because victims are not as innocent as they make themselves out to be. a burglar is only innocent if he has nothing to incriminate him. we have in a way been stealing from the thargoids for 6 months now without any form of punishment, now for all anyone knows they are just reclaiming what is rightfully theres.

so don't be hasty to pass judgement on a species we still know next to nothing about

I think some people need to re-evaluate what the word 'evidence' means.

Until there is solid proof that the weapons used by the aliens we've thus far encountered were used in the destruction of these fleets and megaships, we have nothing except theories and circumstance.

I still maintain there's either a 3rd party we've yet to encounter, or that we are dealing with Thargoid factions, one of which we likely have not recognised, or even seen yet.

Law and Science both rely heavily on circumstantial evidence. My astronomy and geology teacher (he did both) in college loved to stress that theories were mostly circumstantial evidence that was constantly evolving. He now works for NASA at JPL.

"You call us aliens, but we have been watching you puny humans for many of your earth centuries. You have failed the test we set you. You have demonstrated to us that you remain a warlike species and have not evolved beyond your basic instincts. We therefore consider that it is necessary to eliminate you from the Galaxy. This will be carried out soon (tm)."

I've seen screenshots of player ships with the same green goop on them after defeating a Thargoid. They use an acid spit weapon in the latter part of the fight and leave behind a corrosive cloud when they die. Same weaponry is being employed.

There may well be other Thargoid factions, there are a number of different behaviours from very timid/passive to instant aggression, however there is currently no way to distinguish between them and they still need to driven back from our space in order to prevent more attacks on defenceless cargo ships. The war has already begun, there is no choice now but to fight.

If that's true, it's likely the Federation. Just saying. ;)

As a high ranking member of the Ferearion navy, I can assure you that we have taken our fair share of damage in this strangest of calamities. The Federation navy will continue to search for the true nature of these mysterious attacks.

Circumstantial evidence is not proof. We're not in a court of law here, we're talking about the future of Mankind, and I'd want to see concrete, irrefutable evidence that the Thargoids we are currently encountering are responsible for the destruction we're witnessing.

Humans have a nasty tendency to shoot first and shrug later. Afer so much death and catastrophe in the thousands of years of recorded human history, we STILL don't know when to show restraint, or not immediately show fear and suspicion to something we don't understand.

While I think the Thargoids are behaving like jerks and don't care if we think we're at war, this cargo ship may have foolishly accepted one of those missions to transport 160 tonnes of Thargoid Sensors...

hmmm the barnacles were there well before humans and the thargoids have been around longer than humans, and for all we know those defenseless cargo ships were carrying thargoid tech and meta alloy, which i have said is technically there property we stole from them.

so we trespass in there star systems, steal and damage there property, and now we kill them in cold blood and justify it as "self defense" or "Protecting humanity". plus don't forget there is evidence that the alliance reverse engineered a thargoid ship around the time of frontier first encounter, so not all evidence points to mindless aliens attacking everything
