DON'T HURT THEM!!!!!!! -My vow to never attack unless provoked.

Thargoids are like White Pointers, They have their own domain and are dong what they need to survive!

So far, I have yet to see an undeserved attack on a human craft by Thargoids. unless you are carrying desired cargo, the Thargoid will not go out of it's way to attack you. they even give you a warning before they open fire (which shows they are not merciless monsters out for blood, otherwise they'd just open fire).

to liken them to previous events, The Australian culling of sharks is a fantastic example;

-White pointers are curious creatures, sometimes they won't attack without inspecting the potential prey first. they are the only species of shark that sticks it's head out of the water to investigate (much like the Hyperdictions committed by the Thargoids).

- when sharks killed people who wandered into their waters, Australia's response was to go out and cull them for killing a very small potion of people in the scheme of things (for memory 20+ or so in the past 2 months at the time, more people die in car accidents) so we invaded their territory and started killing them (sound familiar.....)

- It was those whose compassion and understanding of the creatures who helped stop the mass culling, people have now developed nets as a non-hostile deterrent. rather than eradicate them, we learned to co-exist for the benefit of both sides (what we should be doing).

It is for this reason that I will not harm another Thargoid Unless it attempts to harm me in an unprovoked manner.

Who else will do the same?!

Take care! o7

Actually, they are more like highly intelligent (at least, the queens anyway) Siafu ants. They're going to carve a path right through our space, consume whatever they want, and then use us a meat shield against the rival faction, which is even more hostile.

Please see the official books "Out of Darkness" or "Premonition" if you don't believe me. Or read the threads where we give away the relevant information in spoilers.

Any lack of hostility we, as players, are seeing on their part is just due to priorities on their part. If we don't get in the way of the scouts, they'll ignore us and continue with their current objectives. No need to fight all of us now. The main wave is still coming.

Indeed. I have just finished my last bit of vital engineering required to safely take down these interceptors. I shall provide whatever resistance I can based on this same reasoning.

Business as usual here...getting involved with the bugs would negatively affect my bottom line. Besides, maybe they could be business partners if all you laser jockeys took your fingers off the trigger for like 1 second.

Imagine the riches they could provide if we agreed to help them find whatever it is they want.

Very similar to the Borg. They don't attack until they consider you a threat. Doesn't make them innocent, does it?

After coming across more brutally assaulted ships from both factions, not to mention a ruined megaship, I'm pretty sure these guys don't come in peace.

People trapped in pods and cargo canisters. That's one of the things they apparently want. They can't have it, sorry.

Yep. It's not just escape pods from the wrecks they are going after, they want people anyway they can get them.

They ignore all cargo offered to them except: meta alloys, Thargoid Sensors, Thargoid Probes, Slaves, and Imperial Slaves. The first three are their own stuff, so that makes sense. The latter two are not. They clearly want humans for some reason, and it probably isn't a good one.

They mark you as Kill on Sight if you're carrying Guardian tech, which is more proof they are descendants of the Guardians' bio-weapons. I don't see much room for negotiation with these organic Berserkers.

One thing all these "peace with Thargoid" threads and idealists have in common is their reliance on an antiquated, utopian Gene-Roddenberry-esque idiocy that somehow mankind is intelligent, diplomatic and capable of coexisting with similar such intelligent life in the universe. The onus is then forced upon the Thargoids to show willing by being the perfect, peaceable creatures their millennia of technological advances have brought them. Please remove heads from aft-thrusters.Humans, biologically are warlike, depraved and tribal. Even during a mature, and intellectual discussion in a station last night with some Thargoid peace advocates - I received a message from Merope Expeditionary Fleet representative (I am sure executives will deny all such knowledge) offering me credits in return for killing civilians. The message invitingly entitled "Massacre Contract".Alongside the slavery and, the well known proponents of Smiles-Per-Gallon and such endeavours ensures that we as a species are barbaric, unenlightened and not worthy of peace with Thargoids nor any other races.Ironic, the term "humane" refers to everything we may be potentially capable of but ultimately, the denomination identifies clearly the opposite. Regardless of whether Thargoidity is a concept, and whether the insects (which like us employ and develop weaponry and war with others of their kind) have such a concept or notion of peaceful coexistence - there is no real opportunity for such.Even faced with such an alien threat on our very doorstep, we humans are utterly incapable of putrting aside our own differences and biologically impelled social associations. To even think there is any potential for harmony in anything which invovles humans is ludicrous and laughable. As the decaying ancient ruin of Guardian civilisation shows, even technically proficient, spacefaring civilisations are not guaranteed longevity nor survival at all.Clearly, there must be a choice. Thargoids OR humans. x

As DJTruthsayer said on his stream, and he's right...For whatever reason humans screwed over the Thargoids with the Mycoid Virus. Really really really badly. Think genocide. So We have an alien culture / civilisation who experience the wrath of INRA. Are they going to forgive and forget? Or maybe want a bit of revenge?

Of course you could argue that revenge is a human emotion etc not applicable to an Alien species. Sure maybe. But regardless, they have reason to dislike / distrust us at best. See us as a threat that needs to be dealt with at worst.

p.s. I'm just waiting for the real bad guys to show up and turn us all into ones and zeros... ;)

I have too :) I was having a nice one way conversation with one, didn't turn hostile either :)

I flashed twice, didn't seem to bother it. On the second flash i noticed something around the cockpit area of the Thargoid ship.. thought to myself "Wonder what that was"?

Turns my lights back on to have a little look...

GAME OVER! :D
