News Inflated Mission Rewards - Fix on the way and important information

Try to stay positive. You are doing a great social service. Evidence of every patch suggests that if we did not play the game then the developers would be out on the street and a potential danger to themselves and others.
What is surprising is that it is always the same; and rework is inefficient and costly from a management perspective.

stand by..... stand by .... stand by .... stand by .... Cannot connect to server. Seems to be the mini-game at the moment.

Greetings Commanders,

As mentioned in yesterday’s post about inflated mission rewards, the team are working hard to resolve an issue where some missions are paying out exorbitant amounts. For now disconnections will still happen if you accept missions with a reward of over 30 million credits. We appreciate your patience while we work on a fix.

In addition, we have seen there’s an increased payout with missions in general, we’re still investigating this. We don’t want to discourage people from playing the game and taking part in missions, but we would like to remind you to be mindful and considerate when undertaking this activity. We will be reviewing mission reward gains after the fix has gone live, in order to re-balance any significant unfair advantages gained by Commanders who may have deliberately gamed the system.

You will be contacted individually in game if this affects your account. We don't expect it to be a huge number of you.

Thanks!

lol

I don't think the RHEA stuff is what they are talking about, its like quince or the various other 'temporary' ways to gain credits when certain system variables are in play.

Taking consistent 30mill or greater missions that are clearly 'bugged' is a lot different - but I guess it would be good to get clarity on things like that, because the Rhea Passsenger missions look like any other passenger mission profile , its just due to BOOM status, close LY jump and a minimal S.Cruise of 14,000 vs 40,000 + that makes it amazingly effective.

Missions were paying out values in the trillions, billions, and quadrillions. This is not intended game behavior.
Which is really frustrating, because it was reported in the beta many times. you guys acknowledged it was an issue. Then you closed the beta. You said you fixed it, some of the beta testers were commenting that we didn't get to test the fix, but all we can do is hope that you really did fix it. Patch notes come out stating they were fixed - OK cool. But yet again, just like EVERY SINGLE major patch you guys have put out, there are bugs from the beta that weren't fixed.

These things happen from time time time, but they shouldn't happen EVERY time. Why aren't you guys learning from your mistakes?!? It's really silly at this point, and unprofessional in the extreme.

As has been stated, they patched it and it was fixed. The bug (which may be caused by a different issue) for some reason has resurfaced which they are investigating.

I hear what you guys are saying but surely it's not intended behaviour to get 120m cr per hour and 50% of trade tycoon per trip? At this rate everyone will be trade elite in a few days.

So what Ed Lewis is saying is;

FD made an unholy mess of the release. They are trying to fix it. Any commander, player, using what they gave us will be held responsible and they credits taken away.

Well that's certainly a new way on me of treating your customer base. I guess they don't need us :D

Bugs don't mysteriously resurface on their own. Please dude.
And honestly, like I said things happen from time to time. For FDEV it's a constant and chronic problem. I ran out of free passes to give them long ago. They are professionals and should start acting like it.

They THOUGHT they fixed it, but didn't let beta testers test it. They assumed everything would be fine, like they always do. They were wrong, like the always are. And internal QA missed it, like they always do.

Rhea system is the biggest exploit this game ever offer.

FD should hammer it. And roll back commanders balances that are exploited with it.

Oh here we go again. The people screaming "TAKE AWAY THEIR CREDITS" are starting to come out of the wood work.

I seriously think some CMDRs need to but out of how people make their money. The one's complaining probably only play with their Stealth Boys turned on anyway....

Edit: I've never been to quince, or Rhea. Never did Sothis or Ceos. i don't care what other CMDRs do in their spare time. They can have all the credits in the world, and I will still blow them up just as easily ;)

Yeah.
You notice how alot of posters seem to suggest that what theyre dribbling is somehow for the benefit of those who want to get those credits.
Example - Players doing this are missing out on the valuable progression of the game.
Reality - I grinded and sweated my way to where I am, AND SO SHOULD YOU. Its just not fair. Play the game how I played it or youre doing it wrong.
Example - Making your way up through all the smaller ships will make you a better pilot with more experience.
Reality - I loath the fact you aquired a Conda in 2/3 weeks of starting, WHEN IT TOOK ME THE BEST PART OF YEAR TO GET MINE. Its just not fair. Play the game how I played it or youre doing it wrong.

This is pretty nice. Some good luck for me I guess. I set up shop in Rhea soon after I get the game in July. 100% allied with everybody doing....of course passenger missions. So now I'm sure I'll get lumped in with everybody that came here looking for easy cash. And I'm sure the system will be in "fine" condition after they fix it. Good stuff FD :)

Having left people to do these missions (and who knows where the line is) all weekend and more and having not issued any further guidance to clarify Ed’s initial ‘….mindful and considerate’ cop-out statement, it will be rather arrogant to then take retrospective action against those who have done missions allowed by boards – less than 30M I guess. At any time, FD could have taken action to stop this. To put the responsibility on customers, to guess what they should do, and then punish them for playing the game as the game allows would be astonishing.

You also got keep in mind that, ya know, probably A LOT of players don't even come onto these forums. Even if they did, what are the chances they will read this thread? There is no way that anyone who doesn't participate in forums or reddit to know about anything that Fdev says "Please don't do".

Well with regards to this latest patch, i've just seen a boom data mission paying just 340cr at Hudson observatory for a jump of of 9ly.
Also others paying 340,000cr for a 340+ly jump, it never rains it pours.

In my home system, they try to give me a nice 22 000 LY mission for a measly ~200 000 payout! I wonder what the logic behind that is!!

There is no logic. This is what happens when you use code to compensate for lack of gameplay or the use of basic design principles. If missions are going to be placed for 22K LY trips, they darn well better pay very, very well. This isn't a quick trip to Lave, it's twenty two thousand light years. Procedural reward generation is an unholy mess. At least set a defined limiter for minimum pay that is graded on a semi-exponential scale to the journey. This is not rocket science.

Looks like they tweaked Rhea... the missions are down to 1-2 million for what was paying 5-10 million a few hours ago. :D
