News Inflated Mission Rewards - Fix on the way and important information

Looks like they tweaked Rhea... the missions are down to 1-2 million for what was paying 5-10 million a few hours ago. :D

They "tweaked" everything, downwards, again. Heaven forbid players actually make enough money to fund high-level hardware..

This is not only in REHA couple of systems are paying very good, so will I be responsible of doing these missions ?... is this rebalance only for REHA ?

Bugs don't mysteriously resurface on their own. Please dude.
And honestly, like I said things happen from time to time. For FDEV it's a constant and chronic problem. I ran out of free passes to give them long ago. They are professionals and should start acting like it.

They THOUGHT they fixed it, but didn't let beta testers test it. They assumed everything would be fine, like they always do. They were wrong, like the always are. And internal QA missed it, like they always do.

I think you need to get a grip a bit. Since I have been playing 2.4 I have experienced a grand total of zero bugs apart from the inflated mission payouts. Not a big deal. Have you ever played any other game at all. There isn't one I have played that doesn't have bugs in them.

One thing I'd suggest is have missions with big payouts but high risk

Greetings Commanders,

As mentioned in yesterday’s post about inflated mission rewards, the team are working hard to resolve an issue where some missions are paying out exorbitant amounts. For now disconnections will still happen if you accept missions with a reward of over 30 million credits. We appreciate your patience while we work on a fix.

In addition, we have seen there’s an increased payout with missions in general, we’re still investigating this. We don’t want to discourage people from playing the game and taking part in missions, but we would like to remind you to be mindful and considerate when undertaking this activity. We will be reviewing mission reward gains after the fix has gone live, in order to re-balance any significant unfair advantages gained by Commanders who may have deliberately gamed the system.

You will be contacted individually in game if this affects your account. We don't expect it to be a huge number of you.

Thanks!

Instead of needing to fix exploits you could try to include missions with high payouts but high risks. There is a reason why people immediately jump on the opportunity to make a lot of money.

Yeah. Most of the transport missions I see now are well under 500K. What did they do? Move a decimal point over by one in the reward calculator? So much nope.

Small, hard to find, obscure bugs are one thing. Huge, obvious bugs that THEY KNEW ABOUT are something else. It's also one thing when there is the occasional bug. But when there are serious bugs EVERY SINGLE PATCH for three years now, the vast majority of which (maybe all actually, I can't be bothered to check right now) were reported in the respective betas, that's just stupid, lazy, and unprofessional. Why are they even bothering with betas at all?

API is down. Thats a bug.

what i'm curios about is who will be effected? i can 100% see taking back missions paying Trillions of Trillions of credits but really, the only people making real money at Rhea and all that are already rich. "Step 1: Anaconda" also, if you break it down what people are doing it doesn't sound or look like a game bug/exploit/"Gaming the system"

"oh, these 20 people want to travel to this system thats rlly close but the station is quite far away. so there going to pay me extra, anything from 5mil - 10mil. oh look, 15 more people want to go to the same place. well if its going to the same place i might aswell bring them along aswell. seeing i have a giant ship with lots of passenger cabins, its gonna be more efficient to fill up all the cabins before i leave."

sound exploity? nope, sounds like a cruise ship or a comercial flight.

EXACTLY!!
This bug got me playing again after a year off. I even spend real $$ in the store on goodies for my ship.
It also got friends back into it, the game was busier than ever... People liked it, it bought us into the game when a patch with major content did NOT!

I agree that the quadrillion mission rewards are wrong (of course).
But some other missions have only lightly better payouts and I found those actually fair, because those missions also took incredibly long and you could only really profit from them if you already had a high-end ship and faction reputation. Also without that the game would get so incredibly grindy, I would probably stop playing it again.

The entire thing feels like the concluding sentence of The Simple Fool's Guide To Kill Your Own Game's Player Base ...

Missions were paying out values in the trillions, billions, and quadrillions. This is not intended game behavior.

DAMN! would of liked to get some of that loot!! :D

In honesty, some of the missions have slightly increased in value by 2-4M . But nothing that needs to be nerfed to hell.....please.... would very much like to go to founders world sometime this year. :D

otherwise keep at it! o7

It seems this is a new issue since the new bonus factor for distance from primary star was added.

Has anyone else noticed at least one instance of an arrival point distance being estimated incorrectly in the mission details dialogue as 40,000ls instead of 14,000ls? Would correcting this distance reduce the average allied + trade elite level passenger mission payout by a factor of 2.8? Say from around 9 million down to 3?

Note to self: Check other missions for a pattern...

[Ah, hem. When the servers come back up :S]

Until recently I never even noticed the Passenger missions. As a result of seeing some under 30M pay outs for a single jump of 16LY and then a 83,000 LS run to the drop off place ofcourse I took them and filled my Anaconda loaded with 1st Class Cabins. If this means I exploited what was available in the game for me to play then I exploited. BUT as I see it I am playing my way! I was never able to pick up the greater than 30M missions nor the 50M missions for the same deal. The system crashed so after this happening I stopped trying to take them on. But I did make a shed load of cash in my Anaconda loaded with 1st Class Cabins. I even went to RHEA but left when I was only Cordial with the systems and factions there. The sheer number of Interdictions was what put me off playing in RHEA. Rabid NPC Eagles who want to kill my Conda! Yeah right!

So Frontier punish your player base for doing what is available in game to play is a very dangerous action. I would not be surprised if you were taken to Court by a player who was penalised for playing the game and being "punished by Frontier" for Frontier allowing them to do so. Very sticky ground you are on. If you have Lawyers or Solicitors as they are known in the UK looking at these "Threats!" then please be careful you don't get what you may receive.

Of course not! Because nobody plays the game anymore.

You know a game is like a pizza.
Pizza dough - the boring grind which works as the foundation of a progress system.
Tomato sauce - the overall appearance of the game, ranging from model quality over to the immersiveness of the gameplay mechanics
Cheese - the game's plot and story
Salami - the combat system in all its glory
Bacon - the game's economical system
Various Spices - the social aspect of the game
etc.

... right now your game looks like this:
A 2m diameter disk of pizza dough, a tiny splotch of tomato sauce, a single flavorless slice of bacon and lots of hard chive that you first think of as an addition until you find out it's only going to get stuck between your teeth
... And now you're saying we've got too much bacon.

I think the numbers were just high because this was a weekend and it was massively advertised by the streamers and such.

I think this has been the biggest glitch in terms of credit earning we've had. So far I've not seen any action taken but you never know if you've farmed it all weekend and done a couple of billion you might get you name called :p

I made a bit of extra chump change to help upgrade the Vette but didn't take the pee too much. (no board flipping)

Glad it's fixed as now I can leave Merope and start the next part of my evil plan...
