[Speculation] Thargoid growing resistance AX weapons.

The fact that they're suddenly 100% immune is really lame if you ask me. Could've been a gradual thing.

The Thargs were supposed to be un-killable credit-sinks but since CMDRs have found ways to kill them, now FDev has to make the Thargs "adapt" so they become more of a credit-sink again . . . o7

Correction: They are not "Unkillable". They are "Extremely difficult to kill". Today an squad of four cmdrs managed to drive 2 of a Thargoid's hearts down to 85%. So no, they are not invincible.

If it is Meta Alloys behind it, dont we just need heat weapons?

"Meta-alloys have a complex lattice structure with large internal voids. They are cellular in nature, and formed organically. They are incredibly strong - much stronger than foamed aluminium for example. Many elements form the structure so technically they are alloys, but the composition is different in different parts of the cell walls for strength. They are good thermal insulators, and have a high melting point, but if they are melted they lose all their special properties and become a conventional alloy. They are easily machined, but as yet cannot be manufactured, only found in space. They are associated with recently discovered alien entities nicknamed 'Large Barnacles' by interstellar explorers. These appear to be common in certain parts of space, although no-one is certain why. This material has been heralded as the next step in materials technology. It is ultra-light and stronger and more versatile than most commercially available alloys."

Great theory, except they told us months ago that the Thargoids would be able to adapt to our weapons and that there would be an arms race.

The Thargoids are the same as before, with slightly better AIIt is the MISSILES THEMSELVES that have changed

Of cause that out of game thing, we have seen the change log to know that.

It easier to keep the Thargoids stats the same and change the weapons stat from a game dev point of view, especially as they increase the number of weapons available to us to fight the Thargoids with.

If they change the thargoid stat then each developer has to know exactly what the new stats are, so as not to make new weapons to powerful or to weak.
