Beware long range route plotting - wasting your jump range.

Projected interstellar space weather may also influence the number of jumps you have to make. Interstellar storms may force you to take a scenic route. Or?

So according to this you are trying to plot a route that is 21973 Ly with a plotter that can only do 20000 Ly.
AhHa I see, said the blind man as he bumped into the lamp post....
Where can I find were that is documented ? and have you any hints on how to do it (one advantage of being 80+ years young ;) )
thanks - Mijk

It was in the patch notes for 2.4 -- you can find them in the patch notes subforum.

The way I'd do it, is to turn the galaxy map camera towards the direction of your ship and press the forward arrow to keep moving the camera towards your ship. Stop often to check a random system's distance. The moment you are below 20000 Ly you can plot to that system.

At the bottom of the picture you posted, "exceeded maximum plot distance" :D

Not 2K8ly, more like 21K9 ;)
who's bothering about the odd decimal Place.... :D
Anyway I've got the drift, did some more digging, and am on my way - the hard way as I have no Idea what to do about Neutron stars and what FS boost is all about, but I did get the hang of zoomimg the galaxy. - C U next year or so...
Thanks for allowing my butt-in - I'm older and maybe a bit wiser (maybe).
CHins good hunting. Mijk

Age is of no consequence and you are always welcome here. Feel free to ask questions.

One word of warning though: please don't try to supercharge from neutron stars if you have not done before and you are carrying a lot of data. It's easy to make a mistake and you may end up losing your ship. White dwarfs are worse and the supercharge amount is not very good. My suggestion is to look at videos and guides and try only when you don't care for mistakes.

Fly safe.

The new plotter has it's quirks to be sure, but I still think it's light years better than what we had before. I'm liking it very much.
