Thank god - look what happened to ED! (which tanked btw on PS4)
Evidence please. You keep saying this, but don't back it up with any evidence.

Guilty as charged.
Five years after the pitch that extracted a reasonable amount of money from me, I don't have a hint of pedestrian motion, atmospheric landings or access to gas giant atmospheres. I do have CQC, PowerPlay and promised (I assume the squadrons announcement counts as a promise) guild tools, none of which appeared in the KS. I know, plans change, I've learnt that to my cost.
Plenty of good stuff in yesterday's announcement, especially if you like guilds, so there is plenty to look forward to. I just don't think it's a bad thing to remind FDevs about those features that were used to get Elite: Dangerous funded in the first place.
But doesn't the tortoise eventually beat the hare.....
I've just been on another thread asking about the average age of players etc - which seems to be in the late 30s +
After reading the 'my game is better than yours' comments on this thread, I'm starting to think that thread was a lie or people were lying.
It reminds me of when I was a kid and people used to argue whether Atari was better than Commodore etc.
As for the announcements - I'm happy - it all looks like good stuff to me.
Love the new 'beige killer'
Anyway - back to the game
Rather condescending.
(and yes I did read what you wrote in the style of Jim Sterling's 17th century aristo)
It is a gameplay, and one especially enjoyable in such game as ED.
You don't like it? There's a deal - you don't have to. It is all fine. No need to shame people for liking it.
Games are full of repetitive tasks. Repetition is in fact how we learn and that's for most of games are major selling point.
My major issue/goal is for FD to get those repeatable tasks to feel more at home, to feel more engaging, more interesting, more immersive. Fun.
Evidence please. You keep saying this, but don't back it up with any evidence.
I provided the evidence in the thread I was asked to provide evidence in! It was the very last post before the thread got locked because as usual, some people cannot handle criticism of the game and get upset.
<snip>There's also a number of people here that enjoy reptitive tasks ad naseum and confuse it for gameplay. <snip>
Whatever you say mateI guess we are a bit 'wrong' of liking ED for what it is...and I have never felt need to open Netflix during playing it. Might be saying a lot about players who push themselves to grind rather than game itself.
... I really cannot fathom how anyone can come to a conclusion with such little information.
Well you've proven over and over again that you are a fan of the game and unquestioningly too. You also attack people for having differeing opions so this time it's nice to see a decent post from yourself
I don't know why anyone would grind this game. The main issue is that once you've done everything the once, it's the same all over again. That has a limited lifespan and mileage will vary but I've done maybe 50 CZ's and I'm done with them.
What is exciting about a CZ once you've players it a dozen times? Now apply that to all the other game parts and once you've done them a bunch, I fail to see why people keep doing them and for thousands of hours as well. I know I don't get the way you play but you need to understand that shallow, repetitive gameplay doesn't do it for a lot of us and we say it's shallow because there's nothing to it.
Take a CZ again, shallow to the core. You can even join opposing sides and it's an infinite spawn of ships to shoot with no outcome and no point other than space combat is fun.
Sorry while I tend to agree with you on other points — neither you, I, or anyone else gets to redefine the meaning of the word "gameplay" just because we think it's repetitive.

Shooting people over and over again in a first person shooter is repetitive, and the reason I don't play that many.
Picking up crafting items in Witcher 3 is repetitive and is excruciatingly boring in my opinion (walk up to objects and press E) — but it's still gameplay no matter how much I despise it.
It's true, it's not condescending but since you chose to read it that way, what does that say about you?
I don't play Witcher 3 so I can't comment.
I don't know why people grind in this game either. Sounds boring. It's the reason why I don't grind.
Doesn't normally stop you Jex.![]()
Nay saying apparently more fun than finding a different game to play

Hey, I critisze the game myself in places. I saw someone post some GAME sales figures in the UK. If that was them, then I am sorry, that is not much evidence at all. I did see some other figures, but they where far from complete as well. I really cannot fathom how anyone can come to a conclusion with such little information.
