Distant Worlds II - Early Announcement

Noice! I think the long lead time could be used for lobbying Frontier to add a lot of useful exploration and multiplayer tools. One thing I tried to suggest was a new type of limpet used for events like SRV and ship races or even just to share personal points of interest with a select group of CMDRs.

I think I'm in... although I'd like to suggest having groups of similar jump ranges now that engineering is available, otherwise my 42ly is going to make me feel like i'm lagging behind the 50+ ones out there with 8 extra plus LY every time they jump.

There's a schedule, it's not a race ;)

thanks for all the confirmations of being in! Of course we are going to be making a registration form at some point, closer to the time which will be your official "I'm in" so don't forget to keep checking around for news.

Note you can all follow me @drkaii on twitter for news of DWE2

One question: where are we going?

Never seen any thread in exploration forums explode like this. :D

That didnt surprise me though, this was very expected news. :)

OMG, already 6 pages. This is crazy, positively crazy :D. Obviously I need to come too.
I really hope that the exciting Expo-announcement about new exploration features and the dedication I felt during talks with Steve Kirby will carry us all over to Q4/2018. Hopefully this thread shows those involved with development of the game, that their work is met with a great deal of creativity and constructiveness of the Explo-Community. Lets do it again, guys!

If I haven't become a thargoid thrall by then,

I saw something important during Frontier Expo that will always stick to me : when Steve Kirby was explaining his thoughts, his face showed intentions, his eyes showed questions, but most of all I saw honesty and engagement. In fact, if I could choose a memory to write down and show to you for sharing (something that is impossible they say) it would be the truthfullness of caring I saw from Frontier people. There was PR talk sure, but behind that there were listening ears and vision. That idea is the absolute counter-weapon to all salty comments one would make who has not been there and stay pessimistic. It is, without a doubt, hope that I'm talking about. Not the idle hope of dreams or wishes, but the shared enthousiasm between Frontier and the community to simply.. go for it.

See you on DWE 2.
