My Dog discovered an ELW!!!!

Amazing - I throw in an octopus joke and we get all super-sciency about space fisheries....

Only in E D ....

:)

P.S. Have they ever actually tried taking fish into space? [???]

See? This is the difference between dogs and cats.

The only thing my cats have ever done is make me ram into things. Like.. Planets.

Z...

Yeah, they would gather and work their way out of the water still as the water will tend to bunch up. They just won't necessarily go to the "top" (as it were) and not as quickly. A conventional aquarium wouldn't work very well for these reasons.

Does make me curious how they'd go about designing one for zero-G. Hmm...

Totally off topic, but what would happen if you opened a can of Guinness in space - would it be a sphere of beer with the head on the outside or a big grey mass?
Also, would Gunnerbills dog use it to make his nose more slimy!

Depends how cold the Guinness was, I guess. Too warm, and it would likely spray all over the damn place and you'd have to go hunting it down with a straw. :D

Any fluid can be used to make that dogs nose slimy! Of course he's totally adorable but facts are facts, its nose is horrid and wet and he stinks.

Shotgunning a warm can of Guinness in space, mmh, I reckon none of the outcomes of that would be good. Especially if you let go of the can.

As regards belches from the bottom though ...

There was a joke "proposal paper" put out some years ago that purported to suggest a study into the speed of smell and whether is was affected by micro-gravity. I have tried searching for it but can't find it - this was back in the SpaceLab days. (Maybe the had lots of processed cheese back then.)

Brownian motion, air circulation, temperature - all factors.

Wow, this this thread meandered more than the Amazon river :D

Pets in space!
I think we need to ask frontier for new avatar creator options... for copilots of the furry variety.
