So... 2.4.03 at some point?

Just wondering if anyone from FDev or someone in the know can say if there's going to be another patch for fixes before releases go into a long hiatus prior to 3.0 in Q1 2018? Or has the window closed? There are one or two issues that could use some attention before 3-6 months go by.

Just don't speed and watch your step.

Definitely won't be fixed till Q1, NPC AI fixes are usually rolled into big releases.

I'm actually pretty optimistic that we'll see 2.4.03. Don't know if it will include your fix though.

The bugged visuals on the plasma accelerator could certainly use a simple quick fix. It'd be silly/embarassing if we have to stare at these N64 level graphics for 3 or more months every time we fire a PA :(

My ships are parked and my flightsuit is hanging in the closet until we get that next update, so I do hope it's sooner vs later..

Not to mention the low-res texture situation which effects.... pretty much everything (cockpits, srvs, planets, stations) on ps4.
I'm confident there's gonna be another update pretty soon. They can't leave the game in this state for long.

In that there is more to be added concerning the current story line, I guessing the game will up-date before 'Beyond' is released. One can't be sure of the way it will be numbered, but it will come.

Ouch, I didn't even know the PS4 had those issues going on.

yeah, it's pretty bad. Firing up the ps4 to play elite dangerous feels a lot like "retrogaming" theese days. :D

I'm pretty confident that every single ps4 player, who has this issue and is into exploring, has put the game aside for now and is waiting for a fix (i know i am).

So yeah, i would imagine the developers must be working their asses off right now, trying to get an update out as soon as possible.
But that's just my speculation, of course.

This makes the most sense, but it depends on if the added storyline includes additional code/client changes or if they just need to enable hidden features.

I sincerely hope it involves an update, because if it doesn't, activating new components that haven't been thoroughly tested can, you know... cause issues.

Be nice to hear FDev's take on it...

Yeah, PS4 will get a fix sooner than later - I hope.

Aww c'mon now Eagleboy! What was it you said about Scan N Ram? Just don't speed and watch their step? Maybe the PS4 guys should just close their eyes or something. You know, deal with it in the same stoic "lie back and accept it" fashion. :D

(EDIT: I don't think PS4 players should do that at all... I think the developers should be cranking up the next hotfix.)

Don't they *have* to do a bunch more patches for 2.4 anyway? I thought the whole thing with 2.4 was that the narrative nature of it requires that they are going to roll it out in a series of updates.

Now, I don't know if they'll actually bother fixing bugs with any of these updates; but the opportunity is there and I certainly hope they'll fix this stuff.

I'm sure they want to give us a quick fix, but it sounds like they don't know why things are broken. I'm hoping they have an entire group of developers scouring the DIFF between 2.3 and 2.4 graphics source code line by line by line until they find and fix this problem. How long will this take? That's the million dollar question.

The other question, tying this back to the OP, is will they include other bug fixes, and thus release 2.4.03 for all platforms, or will they only do a hotfix for the PS4 graphics and let all the other bugs wait until 3.0 release in Q1 2018?

Won't bother me in the least, I fly through the slot with my eyes closed anyway. It's a lot less stressful.
