Horizons better Mission- Rank tiering.

What is majorly annoying is the amount of useless missions I get for my current rank. I am Tycoon trade yet I get penniless Missions, I am Dangerous Combat rank yet I get harmless Missions. these missions only serve to clog my mission board as the payouts are not even close to adequate.

I propose a new system for missions, rather than it simply be any random rank, missions are based on your current rank and may spawn 1 rank higher and lower with a very small chance of even lower ranks spawning. this would mean players would get adequate pay for their rank and not have to filter though piles of rubbish to get what they deserve.

Thoughts?

I can't agree.
I've been trying to get some Empire rank, and without the scores of penniless rep++ missions (that pay crap), I'd have no missions to perform for ranking purposes.
I don't know why FD insists on some form of punishment per mission (more money and rep+, or crap money and rep++, rep+++), but they do, and that's what we seem to be stuck with.

My thinking is that I would like to see more rewards for the effort. There are too many ranks that have no reason to attain other than it is required to get to the next rank, to finally get a ship or Permit you needed. There should be some reward per each rank.
How about granting Percent discounts to specific systems for ships, modules or a trading commodity?

This type of tier leveling started a long time ago with DnD. The issue here is that unlike DnD, there are not enough game elements to allow for all the tiers. In DnD, you got something with almost every level. in ED, those rewards are not in line with the effort.

Just my 2 cents.

What would happen if two CMDRs of different rank dock at the same station? One will be unhappy.

Whoa, wait a sec. you mean missions are shared between commanders?! I thought they were exclusive?? learn something new every day I guess ;)

That was sort of what made me post this, I was stuck at Maia getting only 100,000cr or less rewards, few good ones but the average was shocking. I meant to clarify on rewards being more up-tiered, ,my apologies for the slight confusion :)

It is all part of the game. if we keep playing, we just suck it up!
I agree most missions are bad, but my way is the right way (anybody got an argument? Step outside! I believe it is snowing) :D
I take about 10 data missions to one station. That station is a metal seller.
I take about 10 or more metal collection missions to bring home. I think about 9 LY jump and 150LS in system (both ends) and I make 2 mil or there abouts. Do that 20 times if you want credits.
I wont tell you where, but here is a hint! Onnes in LFT 37 to Drexler in Qarato!
Me is goin' exploding! In my ASP exploder! At Palin's ranch! Fittin' light stuff! :D
