Federal Corvette PVE hardpoint loadout

I just use my PvP setup for PvE, with no alterations:

In general, I use consumables, including ammo, very sparingly against NPCs as I like to be prepared for hostile CMDRs at all times.

2x Huge G5 Efficient plasma accelerators with plasma slug
1x Large G5 Rapid Fire pulse turret with scramble spectrum
2x Med G5 Rapid Fire pulse turret with scramble spectrum
1x Small G5 Focused gimballed pulse with Emissive
1x Small G5 Extended Mag gimballed MC with corrosive shell

This loadout lets me hang out in RES sites and CZ's until my arm gets tired. No need for pip management either; just set it to 2-2-2 and put the throttle in the blue zone.

I kept the MC's but put 2 x 4A Fixed Beams OC'd to 5 on top. Great for heavily shielded larger ships and the remaining giimbaled MC's work just as well on anything smaller.

2 huge multicannon overcharged5 autoloader (no untimely reloads)
1 small multicannon efficient5 corrosive
1 small multicannon efficient5 emissive munitions
1 large and 2 medium burst laser long range5.
Use bursts to steal kills from other side of conflict zones :) also use efficient5 beams sometimes for grins

Out of all configs i tried i liked either 2 huge gimballed MC-s or 2 huge plasmas, large fixed long-range beam and everything else just to add required debuffs (corrosive etc), usually some combination of MC-s and burst lasers.

-Long Range everything.

If a stock ship can't reach you, you can't die.

-Lasers

If you don't run out of ammo, you don't have to stop.

Dual size 4 PA!

In all seriousness, I would put efficient pulse turrets on the small and medium spots, a gimballed pulse or beam in the large, and a pair of MCs in the huge slots. Save the MCs for larger targets.

My current load out seems to be working out well for me.

1 x Huge Multicannon (Gimballed) - Rapid Fire 5 with corrosive (Fires at twice the rate so i wont miss running 2 multicannons ^_~)
1 x Huge Beam Laser (Gimballed) - Long Range 1 with friendly healing (Even adding a level 1 long range removes the damage drop off. I'm now 100% damage at 3.5km)
1 x Large Beam Laser (Turreted) - Efficiency 5 with friendly healing (Was hoping that turreted healing beams would target allies, alas it was not the case)
2 x Medium Beam Laser (Turreted) - Efficiency 5 with friendly healing (Was hoping that turreted healing beams would target allies, alas it was not the case)
2 x Small Beam Laser (Turreted) - Efficiency 5 with friendly healing (Was hoping that turreted healing beams would target allies, alas it was not the case)

Basically i have all my turrets set to fire at will and bound to my primary fire. I let them do whatever they want and i use the huge hardpoints to do the heavy lifting. So far it's been working out great. Shields can't stay up long with this load out, and once you slap some corrosive against the hull, the ship doesnt last much longer either ^_~

EDIT: It's worth noting that with all my turrets firing i lose no energy. And when im firing the beam (with 4 pips) it takes me about 40 seconds to drain. Though very rarely will i drain all the energy since i wont be shooting the huge hardpoint while im trying to maneuver so it gives it that little bit of recharge time it needs. I have a weapon focused distributor btw

I wonder, could you use the small hardpoints for thermal vent beam turrets as additional cooling for your ship or do the turrets not hit reliably enough for that to be useful?

Thermal vent can't really cool the ship. All it does at this point is negate the thermal load of the weapon itself. Still the most useful beam laser effect, in most cases, but not as potent as it used to be.

Ah well, would have been too useful, I guess, using your turrets as cooling nacelles.

I've never been terribly interested in the Corvette, however I got one after the recent... sudden enrichment... due to passenger missions, I specced it for PvE and my layout is:

- 2x Huge Overcharged G5 Multicannon with Auto-Loader (why are people still using Incendiary?!?!) (their ammo last longer than other MCs, Hull Hardness means larger weapons are better for anti-hull duty);
- 1x Large Long Range G2 Pulse Laser;
- 2x Medium Long Range G2 Pulse Laser;
- 1x Small Long Range G2 Pulse Laser;
- 1x Small Overcharged G5 Multicannon (to apply Corrosive debuff).

Pulse Lasers means I can fire for a looooong time in 4-0-2 without running out of juice, and I went with Long Range both because most ships are faster than me, and because Pulse has a terribly falloff range of 0.5 Km. With most ships I just bring the shields down and then open up with the MCs, often together with the lasers. Works like a charm.
